Job Description We are looking for a dedicated and technically skilled Customer Services Agent to support our Pastel Payroll customers. In this role, you will be the first line of expertise—helping customers define the context of their issues, analyze root causes, and recommend solutions that resolve queries efficiently while minimizing disruption to their live processing environments.
Beyond direct customer support, you will also act as a trusted advisor to our partners, alliances, and internal teams by providing specialist solutions to a wide range of technical product challenges.

Location – 3 days per week out of our Johannesburg office.
Key Responsibilities • Serve as the product expert, providing resolution for complex escalations across Customer Support and other stakeholders.

  • Deliver timely communication on product updates, new releases, and bug fixes to ensure teams stay informed.
  • Use advanced system analysis and testing techniques to identify and resolve highly complex software or system issues.
  • Track and monitor recurring customer issues to create proactive communication and customer education initiatives.
  • Support our Digital Transformation strategy by driving efficiency, automation, and quality improvements across online platforms.
  • Manage the end-to-end process of logging, tracking, and resolving software bugs or product enhancement requests.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure seamless resolution of queries.
  • Develop initiatives that empower customers to be self-sufficient, reducing resolution times and improving overall satisfaction.
  • Prioritize your workload effectively when resources shift, ensuring the best possible outcomes for customers, colleagues, and the business.
  • Stay up to date on product, technical, and industry knowledge, and actively contribute to continuous improvement projects.
  • Support training, product enhancements, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen the department’s capabilities.
  • Accurately log all customer interactions in the internal CRM and ensure responses are clear, methodical, and actionable.
  • Encourage customers to provide feedback through after-call surveys, while consistently growing your product knowledge and customer engagement skills.

  • Pastel Payroll product certification.
  • Strong understanding of customer support platforms and delivering a superior customer experience.

Sales Intern: Payroll

Job Title Sales Intern: Payroll
Job Description Are you a motivated and a focused individual who is ready to make a real impact? We are looking for a passionate Sales Intern: Payroll to join our team at our Midrand Offices. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our Sales colleagues in the Medium and Small segments with quoting & conducting administrative duties.

What will the programme look like?
The role will also include assisting with sales processes such reviewing all opportunities before quoting. Check that correct tax country and branch are specified. Check that the Sales GP on CRM is calculated correctly, creating of new opportunities on CRM, Email queries to address and respond, typing of quotations, follow up with customers to confirm receipt of quotes, Phone customers to confirm appointments, cold calling potential customers, researching their company’s products or services, loading opportunities on various systems.

This is a hybrid role – three days per week in our Midrand office.
Key Responsibilities Summary of the Role

  • You will do a search on CRM and Salesforce to see if an opportunity already exists. If it does, they will just drop the quote on the open opportunities. If there is nothing, the intern will open the opportunity in Salesforce & CRM, drop the quotation on both systems and phone the customer to confirm receipt of the quotation.
  • Forecasting/ACV values/Commission to BP’s, remains the responsibility of the sales colleague as well as any other communication and stage progress on the systems.
  • In the case of an opportunity needing to be loaded on Smart sheets, the intern needs to be notified that they must load it in Smart Sheets.
  • The confirmation email from smart sheet will be forwarded to the ASM to verify the data. The interns will not load it under their own names, but under the name of the opportunity owner.
  • The interns can be used to confirm appointments and when necessary, move out appointments for their Allocated ASM.
  • Interns to be trained by their allocated ASM on assisting them with Quotations. Accuracy is still the ownership of the ASM.
  • Interns to sit in on certain Sales Demos for exposure. ASMs to arrange.
  • Interns to assist with taking minutes during those meetings/demos when needed by their allocated ASM.
  • All Interns will assist with Quotations for Runtimes.
  • Inside Sales Interns will see to the Lead Allocations Sheet and Business Partner Allocations Sheet.
  • Interns should redirect business related queries to the correct department that has incorrectly been directed to Sales.
  • Load escalation webforms on behalf of clients.
  • Assist ASMs to do research on clients.
  • Assist in completing Due Diligence forms with the assistance of allocated ASM.

What will make me successful?

  • A grade 12 matric certificate (must have passed accounting)
  • A commerce qualification preferably in Marketing
  • Must have basic Microsoft Excel
  • A Clear Criminal record
  • A proactive and motivated attitude with a strong desire to learn and grow
  • Excellent communication (both verbal & written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • A detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy and consistency in lead qualification
  • Adaptability and a problem-solving mindset to overcome challenges in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to support the Customer Service team

Marketing Lead for the AME planning process for small & accountants. Lead on trading interlock with sales & performance in region – driving performance & optimisation. Drive collaboration, prioritisation and execution through the UKIA digital & campaign hubs. This is a player manager role, leading 2 direct reports to shape and deliver the NCA, Accountants & Inlife plans.

Location – 3 days per week out of our Johannesburg office.
Key Responsibilities • Marketing Lead for AME Small & Accountants interlocking with AME leadership team accountable for delivering against regional targets.
• Accountable for both NCA & Inlife marketing demand plans (new bookings, new customers, cross sell, upsell/expansion, retention) for both direct channel and through accountants covering all products: SBCA, SBCP and Sage 50.
• Set & own marketing plan (strategic & demand plan) for AME Small & Accountants across all channels – through lockstep with RTR organisation through the Annual budget planning process & ongoing trading / roadmap developments. Working through direct team of 2 managers and 1 intern.
• Own trading process through weekly performance calls, hub interlocks & primary lead within the regional sales trading calls laddering up to the WBR, MBR processes.
• Primary lead for BU to interlock with UKIA digital & campaign hubs to construct plan, prioritise, execute & optimise performance.
• Accountability for all marketing performance and contribution to BU in region (units, ARR, trials, SQOs, MQLs, CPAs, LTV:CAC).
• Accountability for marketing budget.
• Lead team of 2 plus intern, indirect leadership through the hubs.
• Lockstep with IC strategic teams for Small segment & brand teams to ensure requirements for BU in region are met and tight collaboration on priorities.

Skills, know-how and experience:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a marketing management role.
• Results driven with strong commercial acumen and focus on KPIs / performance.
• Experience in fast paced / sales led organisation.
• Strong understanding of both digital trading & assisted funnels. Understanding of working with B2B, B2C and channel marketing advantage.
• Proven experience in digital & field marketing.
• Sound leadership skills to inspire and motivate your team.
• Exceptional communication to negotiate and influence at senior level.
• Ability to work in a matrix environment and multi team approach – influencing across teams to get to right outcome including through the new UKIA hubs & regional structures.
• Resilience and strong accountability.
