Distribution Supervisor – Mokopane Bakery

Responsibilities

What we’re looking for:

  • Assist in managing a team of Delivery Drivers and Assistants in order to ensure that Customers deliveries are executed on time and as per the delivery schedule. Support the Distribution team in all operational matters such as the use of HHC, Driver’s License and PDP renewals, vehicle service

  • Optimize the Secondary Distribution performance by applying the most cost effective and efficient Routing and Scheduling of vehicles.

Main Purpose:

This role will be responsible for the procurement of Ingredients across South Africa Operating Unit.

Highly complex and scattered portfolio for supplier management, stakeholder management and materials management. This leader manages 60% of total materials with high risk of out of stock. Responsible to cover all 38 sites as well as JV’s, requiring High caliber profile to strategically manage supplier relationship and cost reduction. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to build and/or align category strategies across businesses for high impact categories for SA business, individually and directly managing 60% of Ingredients spend/size/scale, while empowering and supporting category team to execute those strategies across sites.
  • Single owner of keeping track of commodity movements with “so what” approach, monitor crop cycles, parity modelling & arbitrage options across key ingredients (Sugar, Molasses, Oils, Concentrates, Premixes, Vinegar etc.), enabling business for weekly / monthly mandates, category teams for booking & execution actions, finance teams to optimally build in bi-weekly/monthly PFX and annual AOP assumption to reflect in P&L correctly

    • At least 6 years in a senior manager or director role, with high spend accountability
    • Verifiable BCP build capability specific to ingredients, authentic functional champion to establish alternate and substitutes
    • 5% productivity delivery of ingredients category Year-on-Year.
    • Established leader to steer and persuade accelerated value engineering (without compromising quality and brand image) both for foods and beverages ingredients, pipeline value exceeding $15MM annually.

  • Monitor overtime and report on approvals/corrections.

  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures aligned to Enterprise Control requirements
  • Ensure execution of weekly/monthly enterprise controls

Qualifications

What will qualify you for the role:

  • Financial Accounting Qualification (B.Com or equivalent)
  • 3 – 5 years finance management experience (Retail or FMCG exposure advantageous)
  • Good communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)

R&D Senior Process Engineer – Isando Plant Snacks-ZAF

Responsibilities

What we’re looking for:

  • Drive and deliver the DtV agenda with specific focus on Process engineering and process optimization from an R&D perspective.
  • Provide monthly/weekly updates in Project Team meetings, adhering to specific requirements, to facilitate active decision-making.
  • Manage the Sustainability budget and ensure accurate updates on spend and purchase order approvals. Communicate these updates to the Global sustainability budget owner
  • Take ownership of Design to Value and Product sustainability agenda, collaborating with global platform teams, AMESA sustainability owners, marketing, supply chain, commercialization, and business capability teams.
  • Utilize a strong technical background to lead formula design, lab/factory trials, process design, nutritional assessments, shelf-life studies, sensory evaluations, and other technical assessments and validations.
  • Supervise and guide the WIL Student to support innovation development work, including collaboration with the Packaging team on shelf-life validations required.
  • Train and enhance the skills of the WIL student to maintain final product specifications in line with PepsiCo standards, and drive the qualification of new and alternative raw materials in collaboration with GP, BC, and SQA prior to launch/implementation.
  • Manage and lead the Technical stage gate process, ensuring engagement from Marketing, Operations, and R&D cross-functional teams to meet commercialization stage gate approvals on time.
  • Collaborate with the R&D Functional team (Category leads/Life Sciences/#EXP/FSQA/Product and process function teams) and Supply Chain to identify food-safe, consumer-centric, profitable and scientifically sound recipes, and support their implementation.

Qualifications

What will qualify you for the role:

  • Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology or Engineering with 5+ years working experience in R&D or related technical functions; good knowledge about R&D vision, methodologies and tools.
  • Good communication skills, technical skills, planning and reporting skills (written and presentation) as well as good negotiation skills.
  • Disciplined filing and record keeping systems (to align and/or improve current document process)
  • Adaptable to change
  • The ability to explain complex technical issues / solutions to non-technical audience
