Job requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • A B.Ed. degree or other suitable recognised teaching qualification
  • Qualification to teach English Home Language Teacher (Intermediate Phase)
  • A valid SACE certificate or temporary SACE registration number
  • A minimum of 3 years of full-time experience
  • Experience in teaching English Home Language in the Intermediate. (we are looking
    specifically for Home language)
  • Proven classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to participate fully in the extra-mural programme (sport and/or cultural
    activities)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English Home Language in Grades 4–7 in accordance with CAPS requirements.
  • Plan and prepare lessons, assessments, and teaching materials
  • Assess, record and report on learner progress
  • Develop learners’ reading, writing, speaking and comprehension skills.
  • Create a positive, disciplined and supportive learning environment.
  • Identify and support learners experiencing learning barriers.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and school management.
  • Participate in staff meetings, school activities and professional development programmes.

EGD Grade 10-12 (SGB Post)

Application Requirements:

This is a position for an EGD Grade 10-12 teacher at St Andrew’s School. Candidates must be FET Qualified.

The Applicant must have the necessary teaching experience and must state other subjects that they are able to offer. The candidate must also state which extra-murals they are able to offer. The ability to teach more than the above subjects to Grade 12 level will be an advantage.

PLEASE NOTE THAT CONSIDERATION WILL ONLY BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH THE FOLLOWING:

    clearance
