Job Purpose

To formulate tactical strategy and associated delivery plans related to Information Technology Services, by managing the relationship between Technology Services and the business to determine specific quality IT service requirements and control the service delivery and support of required ICT services, thus ensuring practice integration and operational implementation through the achievement of Information Technology objectives.

About the Position

SARS is seeking a senior, business aligned Principal Consultant to lead the secure design, review and modernisation of application and platform services across the enterprise. This role embeds security throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), enables the secure implementation of new and modernised services, optimises existing security controls, and ensures that digital initiatives meet both business objectives and security requirements.

The successful candidate will operate at enterprise and solution level, partnering with business, enterprise architecture, delivery and operations teams to translate business needs into secure, fit for purpose technical requirements, designs and specifications

Sen Specialist: IT Security Engineer (Azure Infrastructure Specialist) – FTC

About the Position

SARS is establishing a new Azure Infrastructure Security capability and is seeking Senior Specialist: IT Security Engineer (Azure Infrastructure) to secure and support Azure-based infrastructure platforms that host critical SARS systems and services.

The role focuses on ensuring that Azure infrastructure is designed, configured, and operated securely in line with SARS policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. This includes securing Azure networking, compute, storage, identity integration, and hybrid connectivity.

As a new role within SARS, the incumbents will contribute to defining and embedding cloud infrastructure security standards, patterns, and operational practices, while working closely with infrastructure and technology teams to ensure secure and resilient cloud platforms.

Job Purpose

To be responsible for identify shortcomings in SARS processes, gaps in systems that allow fraud, trends of activities where SARS is defrauded, and  to assist in designing  controls and solutions to mitigate identified  risks and to reports on suspicious and unauthorized activities on the SARS IT Systems

About the Position

SARS is establishing a new Azure Infrastructure Security capability and is seeking Senior Specialist: IT Security Engineer (Azure Infrastructure) to secure and support Azure-based infrastructure platforms that host critical SARS systems and services.

About the Position

SARS is looking for an experienced IBM Integration Software Developer. Experience in IBM related integration software, with exposure to IBM MQ Messaging, and  REST/Web Service integration patterns  will be an added advantage.

Job Purpose

To provide expertise, advice and support in practice formulation and associated best practice improvement tactics, by ensuring sustainability of SARS software, systems and technologies, enabling a holistic business solution that support and sustain the business capability with minimal business risk, integrate and align architectures within the Enterprise Architecture, in order to enable tactical translation and operational implementation. 

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualification & Experience Required

B. Tech: Computer Systems AND 8-10 years’ experience in an IBM Integration Software Development Environment or other versions of the software, of which 3-4 years at junior specialist level.

OR

Relevant IT Qualification / Certification, as specified in Min Functional requirements, where applicable and 8-10 years’ experience in an IBM Integration Software Development Environment or other versions of the software,of which 3-4 years at junior specialist level.

ALTERNATIVE #

Senior Certificate (NQF 4) AND 15 years’ experience in an IBM Integration Software Development Environment or other versions of the software, of which 3-4 years at junior specialist level.

  • Analyse and make recommendations about improvements to specialist systems, procedures and associated area’s practice.
  • Contribute to the optimum utilisation of org. resources, advising on effective planning and development of area of specialisation resource plans.

  • Provide support to projects by applying the required specialised skills in terms of infrastructure, architecture, data, design, services, processes, monitoring and patterns.
  • Troubleshoot and methodically identify research and resolve complex issues in the IT environment.
  • Design, plan and implement all the software, integration, design and development activities that relate to the portfolio of business integration in conjunction with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Introduce best practises and influence the divisions to change and adopt accordingly.
  • Contribute to IT business planning with regards to interface applications.
