The Intern will contribute towards the efficient co-ordination of Administration Management in the Regional Office. The Intern reports to the Regional Assistant Manager.

                                 Namakwa – DC6 (Northern Cape) (Springbok)

                       Twenty-Four Months (24) contract at R10,441.00 per month

If you are looking to kick-start your Administration career in a pre-eminent elections management body, this might be your role. We are currently looking for an intern to join our Regional Office team in the Namakwa Regional office in the Northern Cape.

Key performance areas: A 24-month internship programme designed to provide recently qualified graduates with a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills in a supportive environment while learning on the job and acquiring much-needed work experience.

Exposure and training will be provided in the following areas where assistance is required:

                                                   §  Capturing of creditor’s payments and record keeping.

§  Assist with procurement processes.

§  Contract and facilities management.

§  Pool vehicle administration.

§  Interaction with client’s / service providers.

§  Assist with asset inventory list maintenance.

§  Assist with basic Human Resource administration for the region.

§  Assist with other initiatives in the division.

Assist with the following general administrative duties

§  Minute taking, report writing, routine enquiries.

§  Maintaining the filing system in the Regional Office.

§  Compilation and distribution of documents / packages to stakeholders, including such tasks as required by the supervisor.

§  Maintaining incoming and outgoing correspondence in the Regional Office.

Basic requirements

§  Matric / Grade 12 / N3 / NTC Level 4 AND a recognised 3-year tertiary Bachelor’s Degree or three-year National Diploma from an accredited tertiary institution in one of these fields: Public Management / Administration / Project Management / Humanities / Political Science.

§  Have the ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally.

§  Be computer literate and familiar with the Microsoft Office suite, i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

§  Have the willingness to learn to work with new software and applications.

§  Have the willingness to travel locally within the borders of the country.

It is preferred for the candidate to have a valid driver’s license.

The ideal candidate must have the following attributes

§  Be a self-starter.

§  Be detail-oriented. 

§  Have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team under supervision.

§  Confident in engaging with other role-players.

§  Proactive.

§  Demonstrate dedication to the tasks and willingness to work long hours, including weekends, when needed.

§  Service driven.

§  Good communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
