Description

The Assistant Programme Editor in conjunction with the Programme Editor, will be responsible for the editorial content of the programme.

Programme performance

  • Plan and manage the programme rundown, with real time editorial decisions.
  • Make key editorial judgements in conjunction with the Programme Editor, building a vital and positive relationship with the Programme Anchor and drive an agenda that interests, engages and stimulates viewers.
  • Maintain high editorial standards, securing top-tier guests and compelling discussions.
  • Complete the check list prior to each show 
  • Differentiate programming through creative news treatments.
  • Quality review of all on-air content prior to releasing for broadcasting.
  • Ensure error-free content through rigorous quality control and subbing.

Management

  • Lead and motivate team through leadership and mentorship, fostering a culture of creativity and development.
  • Manage staff headcount requirements for every show and ensure optimally alignment to the editorial expectations.
  • Align staffing needs/requirements with editorial demands.
  • Ensure effective communication and compliance with company policies.

Editorial Leadership

Lead the pre-and post-production meetings, when required.

  • Drive innovative, unique, and engaging content.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of local and global affairs and broadcast regulations.
  • Marinating a good understanding of legal and ethical issues with regards to television broadcasts.

Technical

  • Implement rundown changes as directed.
  • Collaborate with the Editorial Team for fresh content.

Stakeholder Relationships

  • Building, supporting and maintaining interpersonal and team relationships to ensure stable working environment and achievement of team objectives

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree (3 years – 360 credits) – Television or Media Studies – Essential 

Experience

  • Television Production – 7 years – Essential 

Drivers Licences

  • Code B; Articulated motor vehicle licence – Essential 

Technology Proficiency

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)  – Basic

Requirements

Programme Requirements 

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Hold a National Diploma or a qualification at NQF Level 6 or above; and
  • Not be participating in any SETA funded internship programme.

Description

The incumbent in the Agency Account Executive role would be required to find new business, grow portfolio and client relationships and achieve monthly targets.

Revenue Growth and Sales Targets

  • Meeting or exceeding sales quotas: Achieving specific sales targets (monthly, quarterly, yearly) in terms of revenue or the number of accounts closed.
  • Upselling and cross-selling: Identifying opportunities to upsell existing clients or cross-sell additional products or services.
  • New business acquisition: Securing new clients through cold calling, networking, and relationship-building efforts.

Client Retention and Satisfaction

  • Maintaining high client retention rates: Ensuring clients renew contracts or continue using services by providing exceptional service and value.
  • Increasing customer satisfaction: Conducting regular check-ins and collecting feedback to ensure the clients’ needs are met, improving loyalty and advocacy.

Strategic Account Planning

  • Creating and executing strategic account plans: Developing plans for each key account to grow relationships, identifying expansion opportunities, and addressing potential risks.
  • Regular account reviews: Conducting quarterly or bi-annual reviews with clients to assess performance and discuss future opportunities.

Operational Efficiency and Reporting

  • Maintaining accurate reporting: Keeping up-to-date records, tracking communications, opportunities, and pipeline activities. Pipeline to always have 3 times coverage to achieve monthly targets
  • Managing time effectively: Prioritising accounts and ensuring timely follow-ups to avoid missed opportunities.

Stakeholder Liaison

  • Working closely with other departments: Collaborating with Marketing, Technical, Creative Solutions and Programming teams to provide clients with holistic solutions.
  • Contributing to team knowledge: Sharing learnings and best practices to help improve the overall performance of the sales team.
