Senior Lecturer: Human Rights & International Law
The Faculty of Law seeks an accomplished Senior Lecturer to join our Human Rights & International Law Department.

Reporting to the Head of Department, the incumbent will be responsible for providing academic leadership and contributing to the core functions of teaching, research, and academic administration within the Department. The successful candidate will assume primary responsibility as Module Leader for Human Rights & International Law at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This will include curriculum design and development, preparation and delivery of lectures, assessment design and moderation, quality assurance processes, and supervision of postgraduate research where applicable.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, the incumbent will contribute to the Faculty and University’s strategic objectives, including research output and grant development, curriculum innovation, internationalization initiatives, community engagement, and participation in departmental, faculty, and institutional committees. The successful candidate will also be expected to comply with institutional policies, quality assurance requirements, and performance management standards.

The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Fort Hare is recruiting one candidate for a Clinical Preceptor position in the Department of Natural and Rehabilitative Sciences (Speech-Language Pathology Program). The contract period is 36 months and is renewable based on performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administrative duties related to the clinical training program of Speech-Language Pathology and departmental activities.
- Clinical Supervision of students to ensure that they accumulate a variety of clinical hours as stipulated in the HPCSA guidelines.
- Clinical lecturing that involves giving extra tutorials to students, preparing case-based seminars, and having discussions, as well as providing feedback to students and lecturers.
- Assessment of students’ performance in all clinical areas.
- Research co – supervision of undergraduate students.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- A valid professional registration as a Speech Language Therapist with HPCSA.
- At least 2 years clinical practice in the field of speech language therapy post community service.

PURPOSE:
The Clinical Coordinator role report to the Head of Department (Natural and Rehabilitative Sciences). The incumbent will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing clinical training and rotations; managing clinical training platforms and resources; liaising with clinical partners; coordinating student placements; and ensuring compliance with professional, regulatory, and programme requirements.

Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship 2026–2028 (24-month period)
Description: The Department of Business Innovations and Entrepreneurship in the Faculty of Management and Commerce at the University of Fort Hare seeks to recruit 1 Post-Doctoral fellow for the year 2026. This position will support the ongoing research activities in the Department of Business Management with a special focus on women and youth entrepreneurship.
Requirements:
- The successful candidate will preferably have a doctorate, completed in the last five years, in Business Management, Entrepreneurship or a related field at a higher education institution in South Africa or abroad.
- If not yet in possession of a doctoral degree, they need to submit a written statement from the Registrar (or equivalent) at the issuing University confirming that they satisfactorily fulfilled the University’s requirements for a doctoral degree at the time of application for a postdoctoral research fellowship. Details of the qualification and expected date of graduation should be included in the statement.
- The successful candidate may not be in the employment of UFH (including Time on Task) at the time of taking the postdoctoral fellowship.
- The successful candidate may not be employed in any other institution/company during their postdoctoral fellowship.
- The successful candidate may be of any age, gender or nationality (subject only to the visa regulations of the Department of Home Affairs)
- Preference will be given to South African females.
Conditions:
- By the end of their first year, the PDRF is expected to have submitted papers amounting to 2 units for review on the topic of their postdoctoral research which meets the following minimum requirements
- PDRF extending into their second and subsequent years are expected to have published (or have in-press) 2 units. All papers must be on the topic of the postdoctoral research and details of the papers must be submitted by the host to the PGS office by the end of each renewal year.
Duration: The fellowship is valid for 24 months from the month of arrival and may be extended with evidence of good progress.
