VACANCY
MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT – WESTERN CAPE PROVINCE

Location:
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the incumbent will be based the Peninsula Quarry
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Walkabout inspections in the plant by identifying potential failures while the plant is running
Ensuring faulty equipment, idlers, and return idlers are reported
Assisting with plant maintenance and repairs of breakdowns
Assisting the maintenance team in the handling of heavy equipment
Working according to set safety and housekeeping standards
Qualifications, competencies, knowledge and experience required:
Grade 12 or Amended Senior Certificate or National Certificate Vocational Level 4 or
Technical Matric – N3 (4 technical subjects + 2 official languages) will be preferred
Two years of exposure in industry relating to operating or maintaining equipment
using basic technical skills
Knowledge of the correct functioning of equipment to recognise and identify faults during
plant inspections, such as crushers, conveyors, screens and pumps
Knowledge of relevant lockout procedures and understanding of risk assessment
Good communication skills to converse with all levels of plant personnel
People skills to work in a team environment
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn and grow within the maintenance
department
Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly and safely to unplanned work
Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends
Basic computer literacy

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Attending to all despatch activities
Daily printouts of all dispatch reports with variances explained to enable a clear audit trail
Proper control and submission of POD’s for scanning
Maintaining effective two-way communication with customers, Sales Team, Production Team and
Subcontractors
Utilization of the delivery fleet to meet the daily demand and optimal turnaround time
Complying with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
Ensuring that trucks are loaded to legal capacity
Qualifications, competencies, knowledge and experience required:
Grade 12 or Amended Senior Certificate or National Certificate Vocational Level 4 or
Technical Matric – N3 (4 technical subjects + 2 official languages) will be preferred
Two years in Administrative environment
Proven track record of clerical work
Proficiency in SAP and BMS packages will be an advantage
Good product knowledge

Plant Operator (H03) x1- Replacement

Construction Material Cape has a vacancy for:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the incumbent will form part of the Aggregate
Rheebok team and will be based at Malmesbury plant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Carrying out pre-start and post-start checks as well as safety status of the equipment
Operating and adjusting the plant to achieve maximum throughput and meet OEE
targets
Adjusting crusher settings to achieve correct product size
Inspecting screen cloths and changing them to maximise screen effectiveness
Keeping accurate hourly/ shift production records
Reporting all defects and stoppages recorded
Performing minor routine maintenance and assist in major maintenance
Supporting artisans in achieving timeous and quality maintenance or repairs (smaller
parts)
Adhering to plant safety and environmental standards
Ensuring lockout procedure is followed correctly
Reporting all unsafe plant conditions, near misses and incidents
Maintaining a clean, safe working area and perform housekeeping duties
Qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience required:
Grade 12 or Amended Senior Certificate or National Certificate Vocational Level 4 or

One-year experience working in a stone crushing/ mining environment
Good understanding of product flow process
Able to identify correct feed material for the plant

Knowledge of relevant HABOS production reporting requirements
Good verbal communication skills to communicate with plant management and
maintenance department
Good literate and numerate skills to produce required reports

BUYER – GAUTENG PROVINCE

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Ensuring that all correctly completed requisitions are priced, completed and returned to originator
within the prescribed period.
Controlling, tracking and managing release strategies for requisitions
Generating and expediting of orders
Evaluating vendor performance and reporting on values spend per region
Responsible for housekeeping on SAP, taking action and reporting on exceptions
Acting as agent between supplier, end user and various parties to solve queries and process on
SAP.
Analysing product and vendor spend reports to ensure procedure is optimized from buying the right
goods from the right suppliers
Ensuring transformation targets are achieved in dealing with suppliers and encouraging local
Enterprise initiatives.
Experience and Qualifications:
Grade 12/ Amended Senior Certificate/ NCV Level 4/ Technical Matric – N3 (4 technical subjects.
- 2 official languages).
CIPS (basic) or equivalent Procurement / Business / Supply Chain or Commercial Diploma.
Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in Procurement environment, exposure in a cement or
construction materials environment will be an added advantage.
Skills and Knowledge:
Knowledge of the industry in which the various Business Units operates.
Knowledge of SAP (MM and some General).
Knowledge of procurement processes and Supply Chain.
Knowledge of inventory management.
