Payroll Associate
Introduction
The position of Payroll Associate is vacant. The Payroll Associate will report directly to the Payroll Specialist and will form part of the Corporate Services Division. The position is based at the Head Office in Pretoria.
An annual total cost to company package will apply, between R 460,907 and R 576,206 based on the Scheme’s Remuneration Policy and dependent on the candidate’s skills and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Payroll Associate will be required to support the Payroll Specialist through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
- Assist in the accurate and timely administration of the GEMS payroll function.
- Capture, verify, and process all payroll inputs in SAGE 300 People (new appointments, terminations, benefits, overtime, and deductions).
- Validate and reconcile payroll data before monthly approval and ensure correct statutory and benefit deductions.
- Maintain payroll master data in compliance with Scheme policies and legislation.
- Support HR in implementing annual salary review processes and bonus administration.
- Verify data for payroll imports related to increases, adjustments and benefits changes.
- Promote a responsive, confidential, and service-oriented culture within Payroll.
- Support the Payroll Specialist in preparing and submitting statutory returns, including EMP201, EMP501, and IRP5s.
- Provide analytical and administrative support on remuneration and benefits processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and data integrity in accordance with POPIA and payroll best practices.
- Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and report generation.
- Support the implementation of system upgrades, data integrity reviews, and payroll process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient payroll delivery each month.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum of NQF Level 5 – National Higher Certificate or Certificate in Human Resource. Management, Payroll Administration, or a related discipline (Finance).
- Experience with HRIS is essential.
- Experience in SAGE 300 People payroll system would be highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ payroll administration experience in a medium to large organisation.
- Strong knowledge of South African payroll and tax legislation (PAYE, UIF, SDL, COIDA, BCEA, POPIA).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HR/payroll data management systems.
Skills
- Sound understanding of end-to-end payroll processing and reporting.

ICT Service Manager
Introduction
The position of ICT Service Manager is vacant. The ICT Service Manager will report directly to the Senior Manager: ICT Service Management and forms part of the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Division. The position is based at the Head Office in Pretoria.
The total remuneration package for this position will be R 1 193 732 CTC per annum, based on qualifications and experience.
The closing date for applications will be Friday, 04 September 2026.
Duties & Responsibilities
The ICT Service Manager will be required to support the Senior Manager: ICT Service Management through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
- Implement and support Service Operations, Service Transition and Continuous Service Improvement in managing SLAs, incident/problem/change management, vendor performance, and service improvement initiatives.
- Ensure end-to-end management, delivery, and continual improvement of IT services across the organisation, advancing high availability, minimal downtime, and strong user experience.
- Ensure that all business applications are in working order and can support the operations of the scheme.
- Coordinate the implementation of new ICT service management projects.
- Maintain service catalogue, CMDB, and knowledge base.
- Ensure integration of monitoring tools with ITSM platforms.
- Compile and manage IT service budgets, vendors, and contracts.
- Coordinate the implementation of new ICT service management projects.
- Collaborate with other ICT sections and divisions to identify and/or procure Help Desk software for internal staff and external clients.
- Ensure smooth processing of incoming calls to the Help Desk via both telephone and e-mail to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end user issues.
- Design and enforce request handling and escalation policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and/or perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
- Produce service reports and dashboards for senior management.
- Implement an ICT Service Management Framework as per ISO20000, ITIL and COBIT 2019.
- Ensure that the Scheme’s ICT environment complies with legislative requirements.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualification requirements are
- Degree or Diploma (NQF level 6) in Information Technology/ Computer Science or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in the ICT Service Management environment.
- Knowledge of ICT Governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of ISO2000, ITIL and other relevant ISO standards.
