An exciting opportunity exists for an accomplished Managing Director / CEO to lead, grow and transform an established logistics and supply chain organisation in Bahrain.

We are seeking a commercially driven, transformational executive with extensive international logistics experience and a proven record of delivering profitable growth.

THE MANDATE

The successful executive will have overall responsibility for:

• Full P&L, profitability, EBITDA and business performance
• Strategic direction and execution
• Commercial growth and new market development
• 3PL, freight forwarding, warehousing, transport and integrated supply-chain solutions
• Business transformation and restructuring
• Digitalisation – WMS, TMS, ERP, CRM, automation, analytics and AI-enabled solutions
• Major customer relationships and strategic tenders
• Executive-team leadership and organisational performance
• Board and shareholder engagement
• Governance, risk and financial discipline
• M&A, due diligence and strategic transactions where applicable
• Growth across Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

✔ 20+ years’ logistics / supply-chain experience
✔ 10+ years at senior executive leadership level
✔ Previous CEO / Managing Director / Regional MD / General Manager / Executive Director experience strongly preferred
✔ Proven full P&L accountability
✔ Strong 3PL / freight forwarding / integrated logistics background
✔ Demonstrated commercial growth and business transformation success
✔ Strong financial and operational leadership
✔ Digital supply-chain transformation experience highly advantageous
✔ Middle East / GCC experience strongly preferred
✔ M&A / due diligence / restructuring exposure advantageous
✔ Bachelor’s degree essential; MBA strongly preferred

LOGISTICS MANAGER – AFRICA

PRETORIA | R60,000 – R90,000 PER MONTH, DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

We are looking for a practical, hands-on Logistics & Systems Manager who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operation and leading from the front. This is not a purely strategic or executive oversight role. The successful candidate will actively manage the team, oversee production and documentation, arrange and monitor transport, solve operational problems and drive systems and process improvements across African logistics operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively manage day-to-day logistics and transport operations across Africa.

Lead and manage the operational team, remaining closely involved in daily activities and problem-solving.

Oversee production processes and ensure documentation is accurate, complete and processed on time.

Arrange, coordinate and monitor transport, including road, cross-border and in-country movements.

Track truck movements, loading points, border progress and deliveries to maintain real-time operational visibility.

Coordinate with customers, transporters, logistics providers, customs brokers and other service providers.

Manage customs, border-crossing and shipping-related operational requirements where applicable.

Improve operational workflows, controls and processes to increase efficiency, service delivery and cost control.

Develop, implement and improve logistics systems, platforms and practical technology solutions.

Maintain operational dashboards, KPIs and reporting, using data to identify problems and improvement opportunities.

Drive systems integration, automation and continuous improvement across logistics operations.

Work closely with Operations, Logistics, Finance, Commercial and IT to ensure systems and processes support the business.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Strong hands-on experience in logistics, transport or supply chain operations.

Proven experience actively managing people and day-to-day operational activities.

Strong African logistics experience, including cross-border and multi-country operations.

Practical experience arranging and managing transport and freight movements.

Experience with operational documentation, customs/border processes and logistics coordination.

Good understanding of logistics systems and technology, ideally including TMS, ERP or similar platforms.

Experience with operational reporting, dashboards, KPIs and real-time visibility solutions.

Strong problem-solving ability with a practical, solutions-driven approach.

Ability to balance people management, operational delivery, systems and process improvement.

Relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport, Systems or a related field is advantageous.

THE PROFILE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We need someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting involved. You should understand the real-world movement of freight, know how to manage a team and operational workload, and be equally comfortable improving the systems, data and processes behind the operation. You will lead by example, take ownership, resolve issues quickly and stay close to the detail rather than simply directing from a distance.
