EXTERNAL MODERATOR- TOURISM

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Industry Relevant Qualification in Tourism
2. Bilingual (English and Afrikaans / isiXhosa)
3. Good observation skills
4. Good organizational skills
5. Good time keeping skills
6. Good verbal communication skills
7. Good administrative skills
8. Honesty, integrity and reliable

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Display good understanding of the evaluation of practical assessments in a training environment
2. Ability to support and conduct practical examination / assessment
3. Complete the required DHET documentation for moderation purposes
4. Review and moderate subject portfolios of students
5. Offer constructive feedback to students and reports to the relevant departments

RECOMMENDATIONS:

  1. Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in Tourism industry
  2. Experience with student practical examination and assessment will be advantageous
  3. Ability to work independently and within a team
  4. Previous External Moderation experience
  5. Knowledge of examination policies and procedures
  6. Registration as an assessor and moderator will be advantageous
  7. Registration with a professional body will be advantageous
  8. Previous TVET sector experience will be advantageous

  2. Implement conditions of services (leave, housing, medical, injury on duty, long service recognition, overtime, relocation, pension, allowances, PILIR etc.)
  3. Performance management

RECOMMENDATIONS: 

  1. Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources Management
  2. Multilingualism will be an advantage

  1. Administer government garage and college vehicles
  2. Administer and control petrol card
  3. Ensure Effective and efficient utilization of subsidized vehicles
  4. Assistance with any additional administrative task related to Infrastructure Management and assisting the Assistant Director: Facilities & Record Management and Officer: Facilities with any ad-hoc requests/projects
