Job Advert SummaryThe successful candidate will form part of the Horticultural Maintenance team, giving input into the maintenance & construction of landscapes and to provide direction to gardeners in their duties and responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements• Grade 12 or NQF level 3 in an appropriate field and 12 months relevant horticultural experience • Ability to operate specialised horticultural machinery such as chainsaws, Ride-on mower etc. • Basic safety knowledge and ability to complete tasks in time without constant supervision. • Code 08 / EB driver’s licence and ability to pass RW K53 driving test.
Primary Duties• Installation and maintenance of irrigation systems. • Maintenance of indoor plants. • Applications of fertilisers, compost, mulches and pesticides. • Loading and offloading of goods, machines, plants and debris etc. • Use of specialised horticultural machinery and equipment. • Support with decorations and construction when required. • Maintenance of specialised sports and recreation fields. • Horticultural maintenance of sites.
Knowledge• Specialised Horticultural, Turf grass & Landscape knowledge • Basic safety knowledge • Basic plant knowledge and Water wise principles. • Knowledge of specialised Horticultural machinery.
