Certified Aviation Technician (Mechanical)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Required to perform various duties including, but not limited to:

  • Heavy maintenance;

Coordinator: Ground & Cargo Handling

Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair, has a vacancy for a Coordinator: Ground & Cargo Handling at ourhead office in Bonaero Park. The successful applicantwill report to the Manager: Ground Handling and Cargo Operations.


RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Coordinate all operational matters and activities related to the aircraft ground handling operations, and to ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with the safety, security and quality standards;
  • Review and update the department’s manuals, encompassing Cargo procedures and operations, Ramp handling, and Aircraft ground handling;
  • Investigate Ground and Cargo incidents or discrepancies, which may have a direct or indirect impact on OTP;
  • Call centre and Cabin Services Support;
  • Monitor Comail & COMAT Provide Comail & COMAT training to Flight Operations;
  • Assist with the collection of catering equipment and ground equipment and with the loading for departing outstation aircraft;
  • Follow up with the ordering of ground support equipment;

  • Conduct external audits for Ground Handling and Cargo Operations;

  • Collect data and create a graphical representation to illustrate the month-to-month freight carried.
  • Determine whether to approve or reject excessive freight offers from the service provider;
  • Liaise with the commercial department regarding upcoming new contracts;
  • Review and inspect Dangerous Goods materials that potential clients intend to transport.

Technical Records Clerk

Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair has a vacancy for a Technical Records Clerk at our head office Bonaero Park.  The successful applicant will report to the Manager: Maintenance Planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Updating SAM and capturing daily ATLR’s flight hours and landings;
  • Filing and scanning hard copy paperwork;
  • Assist with keeping aircraft records and storage area in an orderly and neat manner per organisational standards;
  • Separate incoming paperwork daily for assigned aircraft;
  • Identify all discrepancies on ATLRs;
  • Identify missing log pages;
  • Identify and communicate Hour and Cycle differences between SAM and ATLR’s;
  • Update/perform component changes;
  • Verify certs received and file updated release from Vendor;
  • Assist in Updating work orders, ADs, SBs, EOs, STCs, Repairs, etc. Into SAM and file documents;
  • Forward all documents requested by other departments;
  • Capturing of work pack, If Required;
  • Must be open to work overtime to capture ATLR’s;
  • Adhoc records queries or requests.
  • Adhere to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures;
  • Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance.
  • Analyse Stakeholder needs and identify improvement initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12;
  • Must have experience in records systems;
  • Previous experience of Aircraft documentation will be advantageous;
  • Experience with technical maintenance system, SAM, will be advantageous;

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure Safety regulations is adhered at all times regarding Dangerous Goods;

  • Collect passengers’ lost property from FlySafair stations;
  • Sort lost property according to time periods of loss;
  • Contact passengers where possible to liaise for collection of property;
  • Communicate with passengers who have reported lost items;
  • Return identified lost property to airports for passenger’s collection;
  • Assist with the delivery of lost property to couriers for passenger collection where required;
  • Identify and track owners of lost Identification documents and passports;

Contract and Procurement Manager

Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair, has a vacancy for a Contract and Procurement Manager at our Head Office Bonaero Park. The successful applicant will report to the Senior Manager: Supply Chain.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the procurement process from initiation to completion of payment;
  • Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers & identify potential suppliers based on project requirements;
  • Manage supplier evaluation and selection;
  • Negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliers;
  • Manage the complete contract life cycle from Creation, Collaboration, Signing, Tracking, Renewal and Closure;
  • Receive feedback and monitor the supplier lead time and quality of services provided;
  • Monitor price fluctuations of goods and vendor pricing and work out a strategy to ensure best pricing and quality to be supplied to FlySafair;
  • Liaise actively with the Technical department heads to understand the needs across the Technical department;
  • Review requests for Quotations (RFQs) and monitor all delivery timelines are met and to ensure a >98% OTIF;
  • Manage accurate records for all procurement activities;
  • Prepare financial and quality Audits;
  • Accurately track and report key functional metrics;
  • Thoroughly examine and test existing contracts to ensure maximum contract value on agreed contracts;
  • Together with the Warehouse manager, monitor Consignment stock and report back to suppliers and Management;
  • Provide input into the Annual Budget and future capacity requirements;
  • Responsible for the overall Performance of Contract Obligations and the effectiveness of the Contract;
  • Monitor and report on the total Value of Contract and ensure price competiveness;
  • Oversee the compliance rate and is accountable for the Purchase Order accuracy;

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12;
  • Degree in Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Equivalent;
  • 5+ years Procurement experience of which, must include 3 years managerial experience;
