| Job Purpose | The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent and suitably qualified individual to present practical and theoretical classes to students and other role players in agriculture . This post is stationed in Elsenburg, Stellenbosch. |
| Minimum Requirements | An appropriate 4-year BSc degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience. |
| Recommendation | Working knowledge of extension interventions and project management; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply. |
| Key Performance Areas | Prepare lesson plans and present practical, theoretical and/or short courses; Renewal and development of course material and study guides; Assessment of students through compilation of question papers and memorandums for examination; Administrative responsibility; Keep abreast of applicable prescripts, policies, procedures, technologies and new developments in the subject field. |
| Competencies | Proven knowledge of Agricultural Extension; Skills needed: Communication (written and verbal); Computer literacy; Leadership, Planning and Organising; Formal training and presentation. |
| Remuneration | R 359 517 per annum (Salary level 8). Note on remuneration: Employees’ service benefits or obligations (13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements. |
