Job PurposeThe Department of Cultural Affairs and Sports, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to render administrative support within the asset management unit. This post is based in Cape Town, CBD.
Minimum RequirementsGrade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification)
RecommendationTertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting; Experience in an asset management environment, warehouse management or inventory management; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.

Key Performance AreasRender administrative support; Check and issue furniture, equipment and accessories to components and individuals; Updating of the asset register regarding disposals; Asset verification; Drafting of submissions, circulars, minutes and agenda’s.
CompetenciesA good understanding of the following: Public Finance Management Act (PFMA); Supply Chain Management Prescripts; Financial Accounting; Asset Management framework; LOGIS system (Asset Management sections) or any Other Asset Management system. Computer literacy in MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, outlook); Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Communication skill (written and verbal).
RemunerationR 202 233 per annum (Salary level 5)
Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
