Description:

A challenging vacancy currently exists for a Project Manager at West Coast National Park. It is situated 150km from Cape Town along the R27. The above position is a fixed-term contract position up to 31 March 2024, renewable on mutual agreement.

The incumbent will also receive a Tool of Trade allowance of R 4 313.98 (must be a suitable vehicle), pending approval as per SANParks Delegation Framework

Requirements:

  • National diploma or equivalent in Conservation / Forestry or Environmental Management
  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience
  • 1 to 2 Years experience in invasive alien plant clearing/basic rehabilitation techniques
  • Experience in health and safety management and compliance
  • Computer Literate in MS Office packages
  • A valid Code B drivers license

Responsibilities:

  • Operational planning and assisting with strategic planning for the projects
  • Managing the projects according to organizational standards
  • Managing human resources and logistics within the project
  • Management of administrative and financial processes of the project
  • Communication and liaison with stakeholders
  • Compilation of weekly and monthly reports
  • Monthly SHEQ compliance and reporting
  • Conduct self-assessments and prepare project audits
  • Ensure mapping and data recording for the project linked to activities
  • Ensure all relevant data is captured for the project
