INTRODUCTION:
Komatsu South Africa has an opportunity for an Exchange Control Compliance Specialist to join the Finance Department. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years banking experience in exchange control compliance and a BCom Degree with internal audit and compliance as completed modules.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.Com Degree/ Diploma
- Compliance Institute of South Africa (CISA) Certificate (not essential)
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years banking experience
- Understanding of the application of the Rules as set out in the Currency & Exchange Manual for authorised Dealers
- Experience using multiple large databases of information and using advanced Excel
- SAP experience
- SARB balance of payment reporting system (BoP)
- Conceptual & diagnostic ability
SUMMARY OF JOB ROLE:
- Stay Abreast of the South African Reserve Bank requirement of the “letter of Import undertaking dispensation”
- Stays abreast with both internal and SA Reserve Bank audit policies, procedures, and requirements
- Implements actions resulting from audits
- Stays abreast with conditions outlined in section B.1(H) of the Currency and Exchanges Manual for Authorised Dealers
- Maintains a best practice records system as stipulated by the SARB rules (both physical & electronic)
- Participates in projects to enhance, automate, and ensure integrity of the KAfH exchange control business process
- Executes the monitoring of compliance with legislation, Imports undertaking, rules, and financial policies for Foreign Currencies & Exchanges
- Checks all reporting to the SA Reserve Bank for compliance to rules & standards
- Follows up on identified risks, trends, non-compliance & corrective actions to be taken by relevant stakeholders
- Escalates non-compliance issues for resolution
