Geologist
Location: Burgersfort
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To identify, quantify, evaluate, manage and optimise the mineral resource for Implats as a major platinum producer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- BSc Honours degree in Geology is essential
- Registration as “professional scientist” @ SA Council for Natural Scientific Professionals will be preferable
- Minimum of 1 – 3 Years Underground mining geology experience is essential
- Valid medical certificate or be medical fit in order to obtain such a certificate
COMPETENCIES
- Must have a high level of computer literacy (inclusive of specialized programmes like Datamine,Cadsmine, MicroStation, etc)
- Must have good communication skills
- Must have Geological report writing skills
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Scientifically identify and forecast ore body/mineral reserves and formations per geological area
- Ensure effective/value-adding geological modelling is maintained, inclusive of forecast updates
- Provide professional advice and integrated communication to production & other mining disciplines for present and future mining
- Facilitate integrated participation in the planning and geological exploration of new mining areas
- Constantly monitor geological conditions to ensure efficient, economical and progressive mining
- Guide and manage the geological function of an operating unit, inclusive of managin Geologists/contractors effectively
- Compile standardized geological reports for management information purposes (manage all geological
- data properly)
- Effectively manage core drilling operations
Senior Co-ordinator Compliance Systems & Reporting
Location: Rustenburg
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To manage, direct and control HRD functions and activities to ensure that effective policies and systems are implemented and maintained as per legislation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12/STD/NQF Level 4 is essential
- Degree/Diploma in HRD/Education/HR is essential
- Minimum of 4 years relevant working experience in HRD is essential
- 3-4 years relevant experience as a Training Officer in Compliance Systems & Reporting is essential
COMPETENCIES:
- HRD knowledge and trends
- Legislation knowledge (Skills Development, Mining Charter, MHSA/ BBBEE and SLP)
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and MQA accreditaion requirement
- Knowledge of Assessment and Moderation procedures
- Information Systems knowledge (SAP/BW/MQA MIS/Sharepoint)
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- To design, develop and implement HRD policies and procedures aligned to the company’s strategic plan and relevant to changes within Skills Development in South Africa.
- To ensure legislative compliance to relevant HRD and Mining legislation.
- To ensure appropriate involvement in line with the company’s SLP, Mining Charter, BBBEE and Skills Development Act requirements.
- To implement and maintain effective management of information and reporting systems.
- To ensure that HRD benefit costs are within the business plan parameters.
- To manage and lead the HRDC department to ensure optimal delivery of services to stakeholders.
- To manage and provide effectively support to the overall HRD structure in line with compliance, systems and reporting.
- To implement and maintain policies and processes to ensure MQA training provider accreditation and ISO certification through regular audits.
