One-year Contract Appointment

Cape Winelands District Municipality strives towards rendering a dynamic and effective service to the community under its jurisdiction. As an Employment Equity Employer, we currently offer the following internship to an appropriately qualified and experienced individual.

Job Purpose:

  • Manage, control and maintain the supplier/vendor database of a high standard
  • Implementing functional procedures, systems and controls associated with documentation and
    procedural applications for acquisitions below R 30,000
  • Timeous preparation of documentation for requesting quotations associated with acquisitioning and
    appointment processes for amounts up to the value of R30,000
  • Opening and registration of formal written price quotations to ensure a transparent process is followed
  • Responsible for the execution of the formal written price quotation acquisition process (R30,000 to
    R200,000)
  • Identify, assess and mitigate different risks within the procurement process
  • Data capturing, assisting with compliance reporting and providing clarity during the bidding process
  • Perform specific administrative tasks/activities associated with the functionality in order to comply with relevant legislation and the Supply Chain Management Policy

Requirements:

  • A relevant 3-year Tertiary qualification, preferably in Supply Chain Management / Logistics / Procurement / Public Finance Management / Public Administration
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the
    Western Cape
  • Must display sound interpersonal skills and the ability to handle conflict
  • Must be able to apply initiative, make decisions and work independently
  • Must display high levels of ethical behaviour and integrity
  • Must have good analytical and numerical skills

All-inclusive annual salary: R75,600.00

Please note that candidates whom already completed a 2- year Internship programme at the Cape Winelands District Municipality will not be considered for an internship opportunity again.
