Truworths has an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager with Retail and Contracts experience. This role will be based at our head office in Cape Town.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and manage project construction programme
Prepare and manage project budget
Ensure that all stores are built to the Company’s standards
Liaise with developers and project teams to ensure that the premises are developed in accordance with the agreed specification
Survey proposed new sites and give feedback to Properties with respect to the extent of leasehold work required
Give advice and assistance to Divisions with major repairs and maintenance issues
Assist with the exportation of shopfitting elements from South Africa to relevant African countries
Liaise with external energy consultants & internal store operations teams regarding the energy conservation initiatives in stores
Prepare reports for the Board and various relevant committees relating to feedback of the energy conservation initiatives

Qualifications and ExperienceExperience as a Quality Surveyor and Project Manager
Matric and relevant qualification
Minimum 5 years of relevant recent working experience
Retail Project Management experience in Africa and experience of managing projects on the ground, sourcing local contractors and materials etc.
Experience in dealing with contractors etc.
CompetenciesAn understanding of exporting and shipping of shopfitting beyond the borders of South Africa
An awareness of energy conservation options that are available in the retail environment

Key ResponsibilitiesThis position will be based at the Truworths Head Office in Cape Town.

Your core function would be general driving duties for the Fleet Department and Head Office – These would include, but not be limited to airport transfers, taking cars for services, tyres, petrol, vehicle maintenance, fleet admin, etc., as well as driving duties and responsibilities for the CEO.

The successful individual will display a positive professional outlook and behaviour, possess good time management skills, have good communication skills, and be able to self-manage.
