Job PurposeTo provide first aid and coordinate training on first aid to Ethekwini Municipality employees.This post reports to CHIEF PROFESSIONAL NURSE
Key Responsibility Areas• Responds and attend to calls regarding injuries on duty (IOD) and emergency medical cases.
• Consults with relevant clinical superior on issues pertaining to IODs.
• Liaises with various stakeholders regarding the injured employees documents.
• Attends to employees on follow up as required.
• Orders, maintains and supplies first aid requisites to respective units.
• Ensures all first aid and emergency equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
• Completes compensation documents, resumption of duty reports and collate all medical reports and related data.
• Maintains first line of contact with injured employees and their supervisors.
• Updates and maintains records.
• Coordinates training and re-training of First Aiders.
• Plans and undertakes refresher courses for employees.

Essential Requirements• Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.

Preferred Requirements• Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent and a valid Basic Life Support Certificate.
• 3 Years relevant experience.

Job PurposeTo co-ordinate and facilitate community health services.
Key Responsibility Areas• Participating in Consultative Meetings and planning sessions with the Area Manager, area
team and relevant stakeholders, seminars, and workshops.
• Ensuring the development of community profiles and regularly updates area profiles.
• Facilitating and co-ordinating social development programmes, health programmes/projects
and engages in social marketing of community health and development in various
campaigns.
• Conducting training needs analysis, implementing training programmes, training and
supporting community-based organisations, community health workers and community
development workers in light of their training needs and evaluates these training
programmes accordingly.
• Supervising the community development workers and community health workers in the
performance of their duties.
• Initiating and maintaining intersectoral coordination mechanisms in the area, between the
areas, Council departments, other governmental organisations with regard to area needs
and interventions.
• Undertaking administrative tasks such as the presentation of routine and specialised reports,
processing of payments for Community Health Workers, recordkeeping, correspondence and
queries.
• Attending training programmes for implementation of Social Development Programmes.
