The Department of Library and Information Services has a Part time position for a Library
Assistant Circulation at Mbombela Campus.

Critical Performance Areas
Circulation/Loan of Information Services

  • Check out information resources.
  • Check in of information resources.
  • Renewal of loan of information resources
  • Payment of fines
  • Hold check-out information resources.

Information Services

  • Answer basic information queries of library clients.
  • Reroute advance information queries of library.

Subsidiary responsibilities

  • Routing of damaged information resources.
  • Shelving and shelf – reading
  • Report to supervisor on all activities

Knowledge and Skills

  • Good Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be prepared to work for at least 6 hours per night/day on rotation shift basis;
    Monday – Thursday (08h00 – 22h00) and Saturdays (09h00- 17h00)

DIRECTORATE OF STUDENT DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT

The Directorate of Student Development and Support (SDS) in Higher Education and
Development (HEDS) has a part-time position for a SDS Practitioner available at the Ga-Rankuwa
Campus.

INSTRUCTIONS: Applicants are required to submit together with the CVs, a standardized

qualifications and identity documents. Failure to comply with this instruction will disqualify the
candidate. Further note that candidates may be expected to make a presentation or undergo
competency testing.

Key performance areas/Core functions:

  • Personal counselling and therapy
  • Career counselling
  • Psychometric assessments
  • Academic coaching and Study skills
  • Teaching the Life Skills module
  • Other SDS services
  1. Academic qualifications
  • A relevant Master’s Degree (NQF L9) in the field of Psychology.
  1. Experience
  • 3 years of relevant experience in rendering psychological services in higher
    education.
  1. Professional registration
  • Registration as a psychologist (educational or counselling) with the HPCSA.
  1. Knowledge
  • Counselling portfolios related to psychological support focus areas: Professional
    knowledge of skills development and support functions: human behavior: counselling
    (individual, group), psycho-education.
  1. Skills
  • Ability to work with people individually and in teams.
  • Ability to counsel and mentor and provide guidance.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize, function independently and take responsibility for tasks.
  • Ability to operate effectively in team context.
  • Ability to take initiative and to be creative and innovative.
  • Ability to apply a professional code of ethics and maintain confidentiality.
