Purpose of the job

Qualifications and Experience

Purpose of the job

The role will be responsible for assisting the financial accounting and fixed asset management team in analysing the fixed asset register and identifying gaps in the existing policies and procedures. Enhance and document the process for audit purpose; give technical advice on the processes, policies, standards, systems and measurements that will help the organisation to effectively manage its IT asset portfolio (software and technology-related hardware) with regards to cost, control, risk, compliance, business performance objectives, and IT Governance as established by the organisation.

Key Responsibility Areas

• Ensuring a GRAP Compliant fixed asset management register
• Establish and manage the IT asset register
• Plan, monitor, and record software license and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor
  contracts.
• Manage the lifecycle of hardware and software models right from their introduction to their retirement.
• Tracks the financial attributes about the assets to understand total cost of ownership, return on investment
  and assign costs to projects and IT business services.
• Manage asset reconciliation and asset disposal agreements
• Supervise the disposal of Fixed Asset.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum: Honours in Accounting or CTA with completed SAICA articles. CA qualification is considered an added advantage.

Experience : 5 -6 years experience in GRAP or IFRS, including SAICA articles. Process documenting and advanced excel skills. Accounting for fixed Assets including impairment assessment thereof. Treatment of Internally Generated Assets (CIP). At least 1 year experience in accounting for fixed assets. Experience in IT related assets and intangible assets is an added advantage.

Technical Competencies Description

Understanding of all accounting standards requirements as it relates to fixed assets. Understanding of Oracle ERP system will be an added advantage. Knowledge of IT assets will be an added advantage. Experience in preparing financial schedules including disclosures as it relates to PPE, intangible assets and Internally Generated Assets (CIP).

Purpose of the job

Assist in Technical evaluation processes, maintain Technology Lab infrastructure, support demonstrations, proofs of concept and pilot projects, helping to make SITA a trusted technology advisor and thought leader for Government. With Special skills in Linux (All Distros) Virtualiazation, Clustering and Open Source Security Products.

Key Responsibility Areas

• Perform system testing and installations to evaluate whether ICT products meet the minimum requirements as specified by the client (Internal customer).
• Assist with the support of the lab infrastructure to enable the unit to deliver on its functions. (Internal business process).
• Assist with Lab administration during the absence of the lab coordinator thus ensuring continued service delivery to the clients (Internal business process).
• Report any technical laboratory issues to the technical specialist thereby reducing the time required to resolve those issues resolved (Internal business processes).
• Support SITA research initiatives in developing proofs of concepts and pilots for research projects by ensuring they have access to the lab infrastructure. (Internal customer).
• Attend relevant conferences, exhibitions, road shows and regular training to increase a variety of knowledge and skills. (Learning and growth).

Qualifications and Experience

Required Qualification: 1 – 2-year National Certificate in a relevant discipline / NQF level 5 or accredited specialised courses. A+, N+ certifications are required

Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in the ICT field, including maintenance /enhancements of integrated solutions across multiple hardware and software platforms, including experience in hardware technical support, experience in network administration and support, experience in equipment testing and lab experience.

Knowledge of: Computer hardware (A+); Computer Networks (N+); Information Communication Technologies; Testing methodologies and procedures; Software and operating systems (including open source).
Technical competencies: Business Writing; Research & Innovation; and Software Quality Management.
