Responsibilities and Performance Expectations:
Business Unit / Divisional Strategic Support:
- Conduct thorough internal and external research to provide valuable insights for crafting our strategy.
- Facilitate meaningful discussions and draft insightful proposals based on research findings to guide our strategic decisions.
- Develop analysis, reports, and financial models that bring clarity to our strategy and ensure that senior management has a clear line of sight to our objectives.
Business Planning, Integration, and Optimization:
- Take responsibility for coordinating our strategic and tactical initiatives across the Division.
- Collaborate closely with the key stakeholders to document a cohesive and integrated divisional delivery plan.
- Coordination of our business planning and budgeting reviews, workshops, and leadership sessions, aligning our senior team with our strategic goals.
- Apply a strategic lens to identify areas of efficiency and work collaboratively with stakeholders to implement solutions and optimize our processes.
- Work closely with our Finance Business Partner to support budgeting and headcount management.
- Manage reporting requirements on behalf of our Executive.
Business Unit / Divisional Senior Team Alignment:
- Keep our management team focused and aligned with our strategic objectives.
- Provide crucial support to our teams in planning and successfully delivering their business plans.
- Ensure seamless alignment of projects or initiatives spanning across functions.
- Establish agendas and complete minutes for Management.
Executive Support:
- Attend executive-level meetings and ensure that appropriate actions are taken on findings.
- Develop Executive presentations and related materials as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- 4+ years of experience across various functional practices, preferably within risk management with at least 2 years in a middle management role.
- Proven expertise in using influence and relationships to drive and achieve objectives.
- A track record of being part of a team that delivered projects successfully.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business cases and innovative ideas.
- Strong skills in building and managing business partnerships and relationships.
- Effective interaction, engagement, and knowledge transfer to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including executives.
Qualifications (Minimum):
- Honours Degree – STEM, Finance, law or business-related majors
Qualifications (Ideal):
- Masters in related qualification or Qualified CA / CIMA

About the Role
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for transforming raw data into actionable strategies that propel Capitec to succeed. You will utilize your Data and Analytical skills to provide support to the wider Data & Analytics team, to specified internal clients within the Bank.
Our Ideal candidate has:
- At least 3 years’ experience as Business Intelligence Analyst or equivalent (data analyst etc.) including experience in data analytics, BI methods and tools, data warehousing and the data life cycle.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in business administration, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
- Experience in identifying, quantifying, and subsequently delivering value on how to solve business challenges using data.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in working with data on cloud platforms, such as AWS or Microsoft Azure
- Experience in building data visualisations using tools such as Power BI.
- Experience of using SQL to prepare and analyse data.
What you will be doing
- To build value for the product line by solving client and business challenges using data.
- To utilise data and analytical skills and experience to build insights which enable senior decision makers to make better, informed decisions faster.
- Ensure the business requirement is documented appropriately to the correct standard and that projected timelines are agreed.
- Discuss business requirement and timelines with relevant stakeholders to prioritise tasks.
- Maintain and share data visualisations, report prototypes, data driven analyses and insights.
- Use and help develop story telling in data visualisations to communicate the insights relevant to the problem statement.
- Ensure report prototypes, data driven analyses and insights produced by self and others conform to relevant standards and Capitec methodologies.

About the Role
Assume end-to-end responsibility for a credit intelligence workstream through:
- Leading and guiding the delivery of complex analytical output.
- Leading the identification, development, implementation and maintenance of new credit intelligence strategies and solutions
- Address business problems relative to credit intelligence workstream.
- Building and maintaining new statistical models to inform credit intelligence decision making.
- Providing guidance and technical oversight to junior team members
Our Ideal Candidate
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance/ Maths/ Statistics/ Quantitative Risk Management
- 4 – 6 years’ experience in retail credit analysis (including programming in SQL / SAS / R / Python, descriptive and diagnostic analytics, statistical modelling, and data visualisation).
- In case of Honours degree: 3 – 5 years’ experience in retail credit analysis (including SQL programming and descriptive analytics).
