Job PurposeThe Senior Manager: ERM plays a pivotal role in the implementation of the enterprise risk management policy and framework in the municipality and its entities, through provision of strategic and operational value-adding advisory on risk management issues, best practices and strategy to improve the municipality’s overall risk management maturity.This post reports to CHIEF RISK OFFICER
Key Responsibility AreasPlans, controls and co-ordinates activities for embedding the enterprise risk management.Leads and participates in the implementation of ERM Strategy and Plan.Manages and controls activities of risk management at business units/entities on overall program vision, strategy, operations, processes and implementation status.Co-ordinates internal and external risk management efforts with the Auditor General, other spheres of government and various regulatory bodies.Prepares reports on the status of risk management to Operations, Risk Committees and Audit Committee.Assumes responsibility over information and Cura System administration.Resource planning, training and capacity building as well as compliance with risk methodology in order to ensure that effective risk management strategy, process and best practices are embedded in the municipality.

Essential RequirementsPostgraduate tertiary qualification (NQF Level 8) in Risk Management or Business Continuity Management or other Risk Management qualifications or Auditing or Accounting or ICT or Governance or Finance.Member of the Institute of Risk Management of South Africa (IRMSA) or other professional bodies.Valid motor vehicle driving license.6 years relevant experience of which 2 years must be specific risk management experience at management level, supervising a team and reporting to governance committees.
Preferred RequirementsMasters qualification (NQF Level 9) in Risk Management or Business Continuity Management or Auditing or Accounting or ICT or Finance.Institute of Risk Management of South Africa (IRMSA) Risk Practitioner qualification.7 years relevant experience of which 3 years must be specific risk management experience at management level, supervising a team and reporting to governance committees.
