Key Performance Outputs

The successful candidate, reporting to the Senior Manager Site Maintenance and Engineering, will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensure compliance to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP’s, operational standards, policies and practices.

  • Manage overall governance and provide input into contract specifications.

  • Ensure that procurement processes are started within sufficient time to ensure continuity of contracts. 
  • Manage maintenance CAPEX projects in line with set standards. 
  • Review technical reports relating to service ability of infrastructure and make recommendations or decisions within delegation authority. 
  • Compile a report outlining scope of projects and project objectives and submit for approval to governing body. 
  • Highlight variances according to benchmarks with regards to infrastructure availability. 
  • Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal (peers, unions, team) as well as external (service providers etc.) relationships and implement remedial actions where required to ensure achievement of organisational goals. 
  • Coordinate and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders with regards to impact of project activities.

Key Performance Output

Key Performance Output

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Fixed Assets Accounting Specialist and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

  • Implement company financial policies and procedures.
  • Prepare financial operational report.
  • Adhere to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP’s, operational standards, policies and practices.
  • Supply information to internal and external auditors in order to meet objectives and ensure audit findings are addressed effectively in area of responsibility.
  • Prepare and post journals on relevant system.
  • Prepare year-end financial pack in relation to assets.
  • Analyse variances and provide feedback to the respective managers to ensure that where applicable action plans are put in place.
  • Complete/ Perform monthly reconciliations for all applicable general ledger accounts and resolve all reconciled items.
  • Prepare fixed assets accounting reports.
  • Baseline projects following Capex approval.
  • Implement procedures to ensure correct allocation between Capex and Opex.
  • Process project costing adjustments.
  • Identify expenditure due for capitalisation and process accordingly.
  • Report on project specific transactions and project expenditure against targets.
  • Coach team and create a pro-learning environment. Assess team development needs and close gaps.
  • Accountable for operational team performance through effective management within policies and procedures to ensure achievement of standards/objectives.
  • Perform the maintainance of asset registers by updating the register with the results of the verification, asset disposals, impairements adjustments and additions.
  • Prepare communication documentation to relevant stakeholders.

 Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (3 years 360 credits) NQF 7 in accounting is essential.
  • Bachelor’s Honours Degree (NQF 8) in accounting is advantageous.
  • 2 years Fixed Assets Accounting operational experience is essential.
  • 3 years Operational Project Accounting is essential. 
  • MS Office proficiency at advanced level
  • ERP system at intermediate level

Senior Legal Counsel

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Performance Output

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Group Manager Legal & Information Privacy and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

  • Conduct research and advise the company on national and international emerging legislation, regulations and practice notes that may affect the business operational compliance.
  • Provide input into legal policies and monitor the impact of external factors.
  • Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
  • Manage adherence to the legal policies and procedures by the company and external stakeholders.
  • Provide legal support on the economic regulatory functions of the company.
  • Review ongoing litigious matters and advise Management accordingly.
  • Provide legal opinion or independent advice to management/business on legal matters.
  • Provide legal support on any relevant business opportunities / acquisitions.
  • Provide advice on Delegated Levels of Authority (DLA).
  • Provide legal services to the company in the legal areas of litigation, procurement, competition, tax, pension and provident fund, commercial, property, aviation, construction, engineering, environmental, labour and international law.
  • Maintain and manage duplicate files of pleadings similar to instructing law firm(s).
  • Ensure timeous filing of pleadings.
  • Review progress of outstanding litigious matters and liaise with and manage external lawyers.
  • Provide legal advice/opinion and participate in the CFST, BEC’s and LBAC during the tender process.
  • Identify legal risks and liaise with relevant departments to devise mitigation strategies to address risks.
  • Ensure that appropriate courses of action have been taken where legal risks have been identified.
  • Develop and evaluate all contracts where ACSA is involved.
  • Review and draft contracts to ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required: 

  • LLB Bachelor’s degree (4 years – 480 credits) is essential. 
  • Masters degree (LLB) is recommended.
  • Must be an admitted attorney – essential. 
  • 10 years Operational Legal Practice (Post Article Legal) experience is essential.
  • MS Office proficiency on an intermediate level.

AVSEC Screener – B2

An exciting vacancy exists at George, King Phalo and Chief Dawid Stuurman Airports for AVSEC Screeners within the Enterprise Security and Compliance Division.

Key Performance Output

The successful candidates will be reporting to the Supervisor Aviation Security, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

  • Grant access to authorised persons entering the restricted area. 
  • Facilitate luggage and people into the screening point and ensure flow control in the prescribed manner. 
  • Screen all luggage and carry-on items to detect threat items. 
  • Screen all persons to detect threat items and ensure flow control. 
  • Perform physical screening on all identified baggage. 
  • Perform profiling of both bag and person, including random screening. 
  • Mandatory reporting of all incidents. 
  • Operate according to ICAO, NKP and SACAA and other relevant Legislation and all ACSA policies and procedures. 
  • Build and maintain sound internal and external stakeholder / customer relations whilst balancing enforcement with professionalism. 
  • Respond to all emergencies in the prescribed manner. 

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required: 

  • A National Senior Certificate/Grade 12 is essential.
  • Relevant National Diploma/Degree (NQF 6) in Security/ Law/Risk/Compliance is recommended.
  • Registration with Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) Grade A is advantageous.
  • MS Office proficiency on a basic level
