Position Purpose

The purpose of the Graduate Internship Programme is to work under supervision of a professionally qualified individual, in order to gain experience through a structured 24-month training programme. The programme seeks to place the graduate intern in specific areas within TNPA according to their academic background, career aspirations and business requirements.

Position Outputs

1. Follow a structured training programme
2. Undergo performance reviews and assessments
3. Perform all duties as contained in their development programme, as well as which they may reasonably be required to perform by Transnet National Ports Authority

Qualifications and Experience

Any of the Following: • People Management (x1) – National Diploma/Degree: HR Management, Industrial Psychology; • SHEQ (x1) – National Diploma/Degree in Environmental Science/Health & Safety/ natural Science/ relevant, • Harbour Master (x1) – Bachelor of Science & Mathematics or relevant, •ICT (x1) – National Diploma/Degree – Information Technology/Relevant • No work experience. NB Preference will be given to applicants within the Nelson Manela Bay Municipality • 18-35 years old • South African Citizen • People with Disabilities are encouraged to apply

Position Purpose

To enhance and gain meaningful workplace exposure and experience for 18 months in their respective fields or related discipline to complement their studies as required by Transnet National Ports Authority. The Programme will address issues of Youth unemployment.

Position Outputs

The Employee shall perform all such duties which he/she may reasonably be required to perform by Transnet National Ports Authority for purposes of training and development applicable to the specific discipline or related disciplines as determined by the employee’s qualification and Transnet National Ports Authority requirements.
• Devote the whole of his/her time and attention to the performance of his/her duties during normal working hours and after normal working hours when required to do so;
• Adhere to and observe all reasonable directions and instructions given to him/her from time to time;
• Serve Transnet National Ports Authority well and faithfully and use his/her best endeavours to promote its interests;
• Exercise the utmost good faith towards Transnet National Ports Authority in carrying out his/her duties and in all dealings with the company.
• Comply with the provisions of all legislation applicable to the execution of his/her daily duties

Qualifications and Experience

University or University of Technology, 3-year diploma/degree or a postgraduate qualification in Chemical Engineering/ Project Management or Business Administration/ Bcom Accounting/Financial Accounting/Management Accounting
