PURPOSE OF THE JOB The role is required to assist in the effective and efficient management of the legal affairs of the organization, provision of legal advisory services, and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks. Provide guidance and leadership to more junior members of the Legal Division.
Admission as an Attorney or Advocate of the High Court of South Africa
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Four (4) years post Admission experience as an Attorney or Advocate (pupillage served) of the High Court of South Africa
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a legal environment / Legal Services Division in a public or private institution in a supervisory role
Valid driving license

Ensure efficient and effective management of litigation for and against the NLC.

Mentor and coach junior legal advisors, offering guidance on legal research, analysis, and the development of legal arguments and strategies.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the legal team.
Oversee the maintenance and organization of legal records, documents, and databases, ensuring their accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility.

IT AUDIT SPECIALIST
(12 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: This value driven Internal Audit & Advisory division is seeking to appoint an IT Audit Specialist (Independent Contractor) for a period of six (6) months to strengthen the division. The specialist position will interact with executives and officers across the multiple business units and operations and report to the Head – IT Audit. The incumbent will primarily be responsible for undertaking information systems audit engagements within an ERP systems environment to ensure and maintain the adequacy and effectiveness of financial and operational controls within the NLC to ensure that it is in accordance with corporate governance, ISACA standards and practices, the PFMA as well as other applicable laws and regulations and to inform the relevant stakeholders on the state of the control environment.
Relevant Degree (NQF 7) (IT/Computer Science/Information Systems/ Auditing/ Accounting/ Equivalent) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
ISACA Membership.
ISACA certifications (CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, CCAK) will be an added advantage.
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
6 Years relevant working experience in IT Audit, (external audit or internal auditing) of which 3
years must be at a supervisory level.
Experience is Project Assurance reviews is essential
Experience is IT Security Reviews (including database review, firewall, patch management and vulnerability management) is essential.
Experience in Application Controls Review is essential.
KEY DELIVERABLES
Perform audits of assigned functions including financial, operational and information technology audits from planning to reporting.
Guide, direct, and review the work performed by other IT Audit personnel and co source partner.
Make oral presentations of audit findings to management.
Provide Executive Management with opinions on the effectiveness of the NLC controls.
Conduct Quality Assurance Reviews on completed audits.
Monitor the implementation of management actions recommended in audit reports.
Maintain a database of prior audit recommendations and co-ordinate the follow-up to validate quarterly resolutions of the findings.
Assist with the preparation of reports to be distributed and presented to Commissioner, EXCO, NLC Board and the Audit Committee.

COMMITTEE SECRETARY

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Committee Secretary will manage the secretariat, governance and compliance activities to the Chairperson and Non-Compliant Grantee Committee and operations of the non-compliant grantee committee and function.
SALARY SCALE:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
LLB or BCom Law
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
3 years proven experience within a Legal and Committee Secretarial background or similar environment
KEY DELIVERABLES:
Administer secretariat functions for the Non-Compliant Grantee Committee.
Manage processes of the Committee including setting agendas, coordinating production, timely circulation of -Committee packs, and ensuring that minutes of the Committee meetings are properly recorded in accordance with the applicable legislation, policies and procedures.
Maintain all records of the Committee including minutes, agendas, attendance registers, and declarations of interest.
Monitor the Committees’ action plans to ensure that items are being addressed timeously.
Assist the Chairperson to determine the annual Committee Plan and to administer issues of a strategic nature at Executive level.
Assist the Chairperson and Committee in the conduct of meetings and advice regarding their responsibilities and obligationsCommunicate the resolutions of the NCGC and ensure that Management provides the committee with the information emanating from Committee decisions.
Ensure that NCGC members undergo the appropriate trainings including induction.
Liaise with the Office of the CRO, COO, Executive Manager: Legal and the CAE on non-compliant grantee matters.
Draft and disseminate Grantee letters notifying grantees of their listing or delisting status.
