  • Working together with the executive head and school leadership to ensure high standards of teaching and learning practice and processes
  • Performing teaching duties while being head of academics.
  • Actively assisting the executive head in ensuring good professional practice, standards, and quality of teaching and learning of subject/s in the school.
  • Advising and contributing to curriculum development at school and system level.
  • Coordinating the teaching and learning of the curriculum prescribed by the group.
  • Ensuring timely and adequate provision of textbooks, materials, and equipment required for effective teaching.

High School: Full Time Subject Head Of Engineering Graphics And Design – Curro Hillcrest

  • SACE registered.
  • A minimum of 3 years of IEB experience is a recommendation.
  • Be an appropriately qualified EGD teacher.
  • Having IEB matric marking experience will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to work well in leading a team; whilst creating positive working relationships with respective role players.
  • Energetic, creative, self-motivated and an innovative teacher.
  • Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing, and which promotes engaged learning.
  • Behave in a professional manner with regard to punctuality, behaviour, and standards of work.
  • Implementing and monitoring an appropriate individualised approach to education through assessment, educational programme design and delivery, resource development, data collection and reporting.

The successful candidate will head up the EGD department, providing the vision and leadership for the department. They will need to be flexible, have good organisational and interpersonal skills with an exemplary work ethic, drive, and attention to detail. The position will report to the Head of the High School and the Academic Head and will work in collaboration with the academic staff.
