  • Ability to remain calm in any situation yet solve problems quickly in an emergency.

The responsibilities are:  

  • Carrying out counselling sessions on an individual, group or class level as part of an integrated preventive and intervention service.
  • Contributing in an active manner to the development of the school counselling programme in support of the holistic development of each learner.
  • Assisting in the development and nurturing of an enabling school culture and helping learners become empowered for positive action and change.
  • Intervening to give learners the opportunity to manage more effectively their life circumstances and to manage their lives more effectively.
  • Assisting learners to develop their personal, social and autonomous learning skills.
  • Counselling learners and their parents with respect to intra- and inter-personal issues and behavioural problems.
  • Preparing reports and maintaining records on learners.
  • Making the necessary referrals according to established policies and procedures.
  • Adopting preventive measures that empower learners to avoid problems as much as possible.
  • Providing a continuum of preventative, developmental, remedial, and intervention services and programmes and facilitating referral to resources and services at both community and national levels.
  • Personal commitment to education and a willingness to contribute to the values and ethos of the school.

English HL Teacher (FET Phase) – Curro Klerksdorp

  • An appropriate academic and professional education qualification from a recognised institution.
  • Relevant experience in teaching English HL.
  • Current SACE registration.
  • IEB experience.
  • A clear criminal record.

The responsibilities are:

  • Plan, control, record and report on assessments.
  • Attend meetings, forums, workshops for the grades/phase as required.
  • Create an educational atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Take responsibility for any and all school equipment and stock of the class.
  • Work closely with the teachers in the grades/phase to ensure the effective running of the grades/phase.
  • Manage, plan, assist and promote teaching and learning within the class.
  • Manage, plan, assist and promote activities (sport and culture) within the school.
  • Manage, plan, assist and promote discipline within the grades/phase.
  • Assist with sport and other admin duties as and when the need arises.
  • Personal commitment to education and a willingness to contribute to the values and ethos of the school.

The successful candidate will start on 01 October 2024.

Head of Sport – Curro Klerksdorp

  • An appropriate qualification from a recognised institution.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Current SACE registration.
  • Leadership skills to develop the sports department.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work professionally with management, staff and parents.
  • Effective sports practitioner.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to identify possible problems and provide feasible solutions.
  • Effective leadership qualities and ability to deliver professional advice.
  • A clear criminal record.

The responsibilities are:

  • Day-to-day management, control and operation of the sports department.
  • Setting and ensuring the highest personal example to the department through own personal standard of attendance, behaviour and dress.
  • Building and fostering excellent relationships with teachers and learners.
  • Developing and fostering a positive atmosphere of teamwork within the department.
  • Demonstrating a confidential manner in all aspects of work.
  • Keeping up to date with coaching practice and leading forward-planning within the department.
  • Establishing common standards of practice, promoting the aims and ethos of the school.
  • Contributing to the school’s planning and delivery of school activities.
  • Developing effective links with partner schools and the community; promoting the school.
  • Undertaking professional duties of coaching and work in compliance with school policies and procedures.
  • Encouraging excellence in coaching and learning, and developing and enhancing coaching practice of others.
  • Personal commitment to education and a willingness to contribute to the values and ethos of the school.
