In this Product Development Manager – Perishables position

  • You will manage relationship of prospects in the Perishable sector (serves as primary contact for the customer; coordinates the account e.g. with regards to Trade Lane involvement).
  • You will seek and prospect for Strategic Customer targets to win new customers in the Perishable sector.
  • You will ensure that Key Account activities are aligned with global/regional Perishable sector strategy.
  • You will deliver the regional and country customer budget by maintaining a healthy pipeline, good contractual performance, and proactive thinking.
  • You will work on regional customer initiatives and for implementing global business plan contents for the Perishable sector.
  • You will collect relevant customer information for the RFI/RFP/RFQ and prepares documents for customer implementation to ensure proper operational handover and implementation to meet customer expectations (SLA’s & SOP’s).

  • You will consult regional/global sector Heads on potential solutions and best practice in relation to the Perishable sector.

  • You will lead solution development for the identified improvement areas, coordinating involvement of any relevant business personnel.

  • You will take part in the strategic account planning process in which departmental financial targets, performance objectives, account management standards, and critical milestones over specific periods of time are decided upon.

In this Field Sales Executive position

Service Delivery Expert: OTC (Fixed-Term Contract)

Job Purpose:

The Service Delivery Expert in Order to Cash (OTC) will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial transactions. This position demands a proactive approach to managing sundry billings, customer follow-ups, statement dispatches, cash collections, and the resolution of credit notes and queries. The role is integral in maintaining seamless operations between Accenture, the Hub, the business, and clients, while also supporting various adhoc finance functions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Transaction Management:

• Ensure all valid transactions are recorded and invoiced promptly.

Introduction

Develop, manage, direct and control the country HR function, with the objective of delivering the full range of HR services (recruitment, organizational development, T&D, C&B, industrial relations, labor rights, disciplinary process, personnel analyses and costs control, etc.) in order to achieve the most effective and efficient use of human resources to support business growth. This in accordance with business strategy and Corporate HR strategies, policies and programs as well as local legal / fiscal framework. Create strong alliance with our general cargo unit DGF in SSA. Role will be embedded in both HG as well as DGF HR.

Key Tasks

•                     Define in agreement with the Country Manager(s) the local HR strategy (long and short term) and policies within overall regional / Global business context, in terms of recruiting, organizational development, training, compensation & benefits, industrial relations.

•                     Maintain relationships and share experiences with other DHL functions, regional/Global HR, to achieve compatibility in organization design and effective interface with other functions.

•                     Oversee selection of key staff, succession planning and management development of executive as well as non-executives, optimizing on opportunities to upgrade continuously talent, coaching and advising local managers to maximize employee’s performance and potential.

•                     Advise, influence and support managers in defining and implementing plans related to talent management.

•                     Implement and adapt at country level C&B policies, in line with Global/Regional guidelines which are competitive in the market and encourage employee commitment to Hillebrand Gori.

•                     Together with the Country Manager(s) and the respective line/staff managers, determine the organization structures, roles, critical success factors and goals for each line/staff functions.

•                     Together with the Country Manager(s) and the respective line/staff managers, define the organizational development of the company and the skills needed to reach the business targets within the medium term plan, and the relative training plan to cover the gaps discovered (if any).

•                     Advise, influence and support the managers in any re-engineering process within the country organization, which contribute to increase productivity and effectiveness.

•                     Advise country management in all human resources related questions/issues.

•                     Advise, influence and support managers in the effective use of the country labor laws/contracts and the collective agreements.

•                     Advise, influence and support the managers in any disciplinary process to be used within their employees in line with the local legal framework.

•                     Deal with employees individual issues on exception basis as their direct managers are their primary interface.

•                     Implement and monitor health & safety plans to prevent employees from injuries and protect health in line with country legal requirements and good practice.

•                     Ensure the provision of an efficient and timely personnel and payroll administration services, in compliance with the country labor laws/contracts and any collective agreements.

•                     Communicate the activities and status of the HR department among the other departments.

•                     Participate in cross-functional business aspects to ensure that cohesive joint decision-making processes exist at country level

•                     Advise, influence and support managers in the definition of the optimal qualitative and quantitative staffing in the short and long term, in order to contribute to the area business objectives

•                     Encourage and develop the culture behavior and values of Hillebrand Gori.

•                     Ensure attraction of outstanding people capable of making significant contributions to Hillebrand Gori’s success, taking into account the future needs of the company, in line with Global HR guidelines.

•                     Maintain regular relationships with authorities and unions.

•                     Manage local industrial relations activities and enhance effective relations with trade unions and works council.

•                     Strictly follow the country labor laws/contracts and the collective agreements.

•                     Represent Hillebrand Gori in professional associations in area of responsibility.

•                     Identify, negotiate, approve and control the quality of relevant consultants (lawyers, head-hunters, training consultants, market data providers)

•                     Implement and monitor HR policies, standards and processes ensuring HR best practices and alignment to Global guidelines and the country labor and fiscal laws.

•                     Prepare and monitor local HR budget; manage all relevant costs and expenses of the local HR Dept. within the allocated budget.

•                     Prepare and monitor on a monthly basis the personnel costs and the relative FTE data evolution, comparing them with the budget and the forecasts, analyzing any gaps discovered and proposing the appropriate solutions to cover the gaps discovered.

•                     Propose any effective solutions to increase company productivity with particular regard for example to working hours shifts to reduce overtime, use the most effective country employment agreement to hire people, control and manage illness rate, use the vacation days, travel & living expenses, company car, mobile phone, other benefits, etc.

•                     Provide “internal climate” process defining, implementing and managing specific “Employees Opinion Survey” process (including giving feedback process) and defining specific action plan needed for any areas of improvements discovered.

•                     Ensure the accuracy of the data of the monthly employees’ wages in line with the employment agreements, the country labor and fiscal laws and the collective agreements.

•                     Ensure the accuracy and punctuality of the monthly payment to the employees of their salaries, to the national social security systems and the national pension scheme.

•                     Communicate and influence senior business leaders outside of own job area to accept practices and approaches

•                     Develop strong, trusting relationships with senior business leaders across DHL

Global Forwarding Freight – South Africa has an opening for an Ocean Freight Controller where you will co-ordinate, control, plan and manage all aspects within the Import and Export procedure. The Ocean Freight Controller is a vital link within the supply chain process and must have extensive knowledge on both local and destination requirements.  Join us now in connecting people and improving lives. 

In this Ocean Freight Controller position  

  • You will arrange bookings based on customer requirements with various nominated third parties to ensure customer needs are met. 
  • You will process customer documentation within a required timeframe in accordance to third party and local requirements i.e. customs, shipping lines. 
  • You will manage and monitor all parties within the supply chain as well as develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers. 
  • You will support Operations Supervisor with the implementation of new/change of systems, directives, and distribution of information to staff. 
  • You will receive Estimate request from Client and check Ocean Freight (freight charges) in Cargo sphere – CW1 and / or Quote shop.  
  • You will request rates from origin station, process estimates for customer, including dangerous goods and executing the shipments. 
  • You will send Estimate to customer as required and follow-up with customer.  
  • You will request SLI from customer if estimate approved and contact origin station via quick Bookings. 
  • You will arrange collection with origin station.  
  • You will instruct origin to book with co loader / Carrier based on the SLI / SI. 
  • You will receive booking confirmation from origin station within 48hr and send to client.  
  • You will, once Draft bill of lading received from Origin, 2 days before ETD quality check, send to customer to quality check then submit approval to Origin. 
  • You will register shipment on internal system CW1 for Cross Trade files. 
  • You will request commercial invoice from Customer that must be used for Import certificate application ECTN/BSC/CNCA after BOL has been approved. 
  • You will quality check ETA details provided by Origin Station with shipping line ETA details, continuous process throughout the shipment life. 
  • You will enquire with Origin Station via OI if there are any discrepancies. 
  • You will send out Status /Tracking report to customers, origin, and destination.  
  • You will, once all drafts are approved Send SOB / Pre alerts to customer / destination offices / Local Customer. 
  • You will assign shipments off the LOT to your CW1 profile. 
  • You will invoice shipment based on estimate or rate agreements / process billing to local customer and / or bill back to origin station. 
  • You will ensure that you update Mandatory milestones CW1 completely and within the specified timelines. 
  • You will contact customer and assisting them with ALL QUERIES including lanes that are not being handled by DGF ZA.  
  • You will co-ordinate movement of cargo within required/stipulated time frames in order to meet customer needs. 
  • You will create/ Confirm transport order to ensure delivery of shipment to final customer.  
  • You will ensure all customs clearances are followed up with customer are processed prior ETA if all docs on hand. 
  • You will ensure release is taken from Co-loader/ carrier in time, so as to avoid storage and detention. 
  • You will develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers. 
  • You will support Customer Service / Key account management and Sales in incident and exception management. 
  • You will initiate and address all OI’s and CCM’s within the defined timelines. 
  • You will address all financial exception management reports within given deadlines, ie sick Files/ Role 3/ Unbilled / mishandling tracker etc. 
  • You will participate within the department with regards to industry or regulation changes. 
  • You will be communicating with Top management from DHL origin and destination, suppliers, consignees, shippers, CSI, Sales for specific customers. 

Now, here’s what we need from you 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Ocean Freight Imports and Exports 
  • Experience in the Retail and Perishables Sector  
  • Must have a matric
