Job Purpose: To control and monitor process units at the Stettynskloof Dam Water Treatment Works

Duties: •Performs specific tasks associated with the operation of the treatment works. •Control and
operate the Stettynskloof Water Treatment Works. •Add chlorine and lime to the water according
to prescribed specifications to treat the water. •Calibrate the instrument that is used to do sample
analyses on a regular basis to ensure accurate readings. •Take Bulk Water meter readings. •Fill up
diesel so that pumps can operate. •Clean the pumps and report defaults to supervisor. •Operate
pumps and motors and record relevant changes Supervises and controls the activities of personnel
and associated tasks. Ensure that laid down procedures and / or instructions are applied and
complied with during the treatment / purification process. •Performs specific administrative tasks/
activities at the Water Treatment Works. •Ensure acceptable levels of productivity and
performance. •Render a general maintenance duty of the premises. •Contribute to maintaining

tenders via the appropriate procurement processes on instruction from immediate superior •
Submitting all completed vehicle log sheets to the immediate superior for authorisation •
Perform incident investigations as per OHS Act legislation as directed by the immediate

Minimum Requirements:
- A relevant National Diploma in Engineering.
- Computer literacy: MS Office, Geospatial, Drawing, AMI Software
- 3 years’ relevant experience.
- Code B Driver`s Licence
