• Provide input to all Corporate restructures, Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestments to ensure tax optimal
• Provide tax input on bond issuances, bridging finance, convertible bond issuance across the Group
• Preparation, collation and presentation of reports to the Audit Committee and Boards of the various legal entities as well as Governance Committees (sub-committees of Board)
• Perform annual tax risk assessments for the group in conjunction with risk team and ensure measures in place to mitigate these risks
• Identify tax opportunities to add value and minimise our tax liability in the group within defined legal parameters
• Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, including auditors, legal & tax advisors, Tax Authorities
• Lead tax advocacy and influence fiscal policy through submissions directly to NT and/or via BUSA, SAPIA, SAIT etc or in SCOF in Parliament
• Ensure the development and maintenance of appropriate infrastructure required for the efficient operation of the Tax team and ensure that service delivery is automated, efficient and scalable
• Identify, attract, appoint, grow, engage, reward and retain top talent to drive strategic execution
• Support changes in operating model structures from tax perspective
• Carbon tax, CBAM and other environmental taxes assessment of regulations and tax impact on business and support business to ensure compliance
• Digitalisation and automation – assessment of tax solutions, automation of tax processes and execution such as CBC reports, deferred tax, One Source, OneStream, VAT analytics etc.
Tax Compliance and Training
• Establish group wide tax compliance processes and procedures
• Review and monitor of annual tax returns for group companies across the different tax types (Income Tax, VAT, Provisional taxes, Withholding Taxes, Carbon Tax, Mining royalties etc.) in various jurisdictions
• As part of the RPC, provide accounting input relating to tax and deferred tax issues on a group basis
• Risks identified, debated and resolved timeously
• Minimum tax penalties paid in the Group
• Manage global tax compliance and queries globally
• Establish and chair the Global Tax forum and on a quarterly basis
• Set up and manage the monthly tax technical training for all tax team members

About the Role / Purpose of the Job

Purpose of Job
Support electricity generation through maintenance on 18 stationary marine type internal combustion engines, utilizing natural gas as fuel and generating electricity by means of a directly coupled generator.
Maintenance is conducted as per an outage plan and breakdowns, whilst adhering to Sasol codes and procedures. Maintenance activities can include, but is not limited to maintenance on piston and connecting rod assemblies, lube oil pumps, cylinder heads, turbos, etc, as per an agreed upon schedule.
The successful candidate will directly report to the mechanical maintenance foreman, working together with other mechanical artisans. The position is permanent at the SGEPP site, with no traveling or shift work required. Standby duties will be required as per set schedule.
