The Department of Public Management requires the services of WIL COORDINATOR for both first and
second semester subjects for the 2025 academic year.

Key performance areas:

  • Central coordination of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) in the Faculty of
    Humanities at the Mbombela Campus.
  • Industry liaison
  • Negotiate suitable placement positions for students with government
    departments, municipalities, and other organizations.
  • Provide industry related information to students.
  • Facilitating WIL planning and coordination within the Public Affairs and Law
    programmes.
  • Conduct and facilitate preparatory workshops for all students (WIL).
  • Carry out any other WIL task allocated by Academic Manager.

Minimum requirements:

  1. Academic qualification:
  • An Advanced Diploma/Postgraduate Diploma/Master’s in Law or Public
    Administration/Public Management/Public Affairs, or an equivalent
    qualification.

  1. Experience:
  • At least 1 year experience in coordinating WIL activities at tertiary level

Successful applicants only receive a part-time salary according to TUT Policy. No additional
remuneration for travel, relocation, etc.

The Directorate of Human Resources & Transformation (HR&T) has a permanent position of Director:
Employee Relations at Pretoria Campus, to provide strategic leadership and guide workplace relationship
management processes, including employee representation facilitation, disciplinary and grievance process
oversight and coordination and institutional support on a broad range of employment relations processes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • NQF 9
  • A Relevant Master’s degree in Labour Relations/ Industrial Relations/ Law (LLM)
  • Registered with a registered body Legal Practice Council (LPC)

Experience

  • 5 years relevant experience at Management Level in Labour Relations Environment
  • Sound Knowledge of Employment and Labour Laws in collective Bargaining matters and conflict
    resolution, facilitate internal dispute resolution measures and alignment of HR Policies to labour
    legislation measures

Critical Performance Areas
Promote sound Labour Relations within the University; Keep abreast of latest labour legislation
developments and provide relevant advisory services to employees and management; Ensure the reduction
of labour disputes; Accurate interpretation of TUT policies Governing conditions of employment. Manage
and represent TUT at CCMA (conciliation/arbitration) and facilitating Labour Court cases; Administration of
total case management within Employee Relations; Ensure proper and correct management/prevention of
IR disputes, disciplinary and grievance cases; Plan and participate in annual salary negotiations as part of
bargaining team; Monitor and implement collective agreements; Ensure University’s compliance with all
relevant Labour legislation; Represents Management in Labour relations, including interpretation, and
administration of collective agreements; Lead and/or provide support and assistance to the Chief negotiator
during negotiations and other relevant meetings; Labour Relations Training.

Develop Employee Relations plans in line with the HR Strategic Plan; Ensure appropriate governance of
the directorate. Provide quality assurance reviews; Manage Human Resources and Finances of the
directorate; Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate relations policy, in conjunction with all relevant
stakeholders.
