ASSISTANT MANAGER – NORTHERN CAPE PROVINCE

The National Lotteries Commission (NLC), a Scheduled 3A entity in terms of the Public Finance
Management Act (PFMA), is a statutory body established in terms of the Lotteries Act (Act 57 of 1997), as
amended with the purpose of regulating South African Lotteries and administering the National Lottery
Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF). Suitably qualified prospective candidates who are South African citizens
are invited to submit their applications to fill the position listed below. The National Lotteries Commission is committed to the achievement and maintenance of diversity and equity in employment, especially in

(SIX MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure the effectiveness of grant funding applications, appeals & queries are processed and provisioning of guidance to the provincial teams, in achieving NLC’s organizational goals

SALARY SCALE:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Business or Public Administration or relevant field.
  • Additional qualification in project management will be an advantage
  • Language Proficiency- must be proficient in at least two of the official / main provincial languages

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years relevant experience in business administration, management, or a related discipline
  • Project Management and/or proven experience in case coordination, administration or related roles
    will be an added advantage.
  • Valid driver’s Licence and not less than one year’s driving experience is essential – note that travel is a requirement for this position

  • Facilitate, coordinate and oversee the successful completion of project funding applications within
    regulated time frames.
  • Facilitate, coordinate and manage provincial project appeals and queries within the NLC’s policy
    frameworks.
  • Monitor project performance, timelines and allocate resources and adjust plans as required to meet
    NLC Grant Funding policy frameworks.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Project Risk Management and Assessments.
  • Coordinate and facilitate workflow, resource allocation and quality assurance

CLIENT LIAISON OFFICER – NORTHERN CAPE PROVINCE

(SIX MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide company registration support, guidance, clarity and assistance to grant applicants related to NLC Grant Funding processes and systems to ensure successful grant applications.

SALARY SCALE:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Administration.
  • Language Proficiency- must be proficient in at least two of the official / main provincial languages

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years relevant experience in similar role.
  • Valid driver’s Licence and not less than one year’s driving experience is essential – note that extensive travel is a requirement for this position

KEY DELIVERABLES

  • Capacitation and assisting applicants on new on-line registration process (both self-service and walk in clients)
  • Assisting applicants in the interpretation of the systems error codes and advise how to resolve it. (Both self-service and walk-in clients)
  • Assisting applicants with the application for funding process.
  • Resolving systems queries on both registration, application for funding and post-funding process.
  • Research support and documentation
  • Reporting on all types of customer services and escalation through recommendations on unresolved
    matters.
  • Conducting of Education and Awareness Programmes
