Purpose Statement
- The level II Software Engineer plays an integral part in a cross-functional team dedicated to the full software development lifecycle, from concept, to development to deployment and ultimately operating of each product. At this level, Software Engineers are responsible to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and enhance software systems and applications based on specifications, while adhering to established standards. They translate requirements from the business or technical analyst and actively participate with the delivery team in design and problem-solving.
- The Back-end Software Engineer plays a crucial role in building solutions that offer optimum performance, reliability, and scale. They are responsible for writing and testing code for the development of the server-side components that power the application’s functionality

About role:
As a Cyber Security Architect at Capitec, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing advanced security solutions to safeguard our systems and data from evolving cyber threats. With a minimum of 5 years in cybersecurity roles and at least 3 years specifically in a cybersecurity architecture capacity, you will leverage your hands-on experience with infrastructure and security tools to assess, enhance, and fortify our security frameworks.
Your role involves evaluating current architectures, identifying vulnerabilities, and crafting robust defenses, particularly in multi-cloud environments. Someone with expertise in emerging technologies and a deep understanding of security. Consult, design and implement robust security solutions that address current and emerging threats. Ensure Capitec systems and data are secure, compliant with industry standards, and resilient against cyberattacks.
Our ideal candidate has:
- 5+ years of hand on experience in any cybersecurity role
- 3+ years in a cybersecurity architecture position
- Understanding core principles like confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Knowledge of network topologies, cloud infrastructures, software architecture, data flow, and system design.
- Understanding encryption standards and practices to secure data transmissions.
- Expertise in securing cloud environments e.g. AWS
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate security tasks as well as IaS e.g. terraform
- Proficiency in automation tools and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Knowledge of secure coding techniques to prevent vulnerabilities during the development process
- Able to formulate and document security policies, standards, guidelines and roadmaps. (NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, POPIA, etc)

You will provide operational support to end users to optimize their experience with SAP EC payroll, ensuring smooth functionality and resolving technical payroll issues as they arise. You will be responsible for maintaining the SAP payroll system, ensuring it remains compliant with regulations, operates efficiently, and stays up to date with the latest software developments. Additionally, you will keep abreast of payroll legislation to ensure ongoing compliance.

- Understanding of business Human Capital Management processes
