As the Category Manager at Copper Africa, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our strategic sourcing endeavors by optimising the procurement and management of commodities within the Processing category.

OBJECTIVES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, within Mining, Oil and Gas, or Heavy Industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the constant flow of suitable qualified and experienced talent to meet the human resources requirements within Group Services. The Senior Manager Contractor Management oversees the full contract lifecycle, ensuring operational strategy and governance adherence. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
The objective of this role is to ensure that there is a contractor strategy to support the operations and the management of the contractors through a defined framework and process which will result in the safe and effective delivery of their contractual obligations. You will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Develop and implement Copper Africa Contractor Management Standard.
- Review and modify the Contractor Management framework to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Establish and align the site contracting strategy with operational requirements.
- Align the contracting strategy with ESD requirements, ESG, and other operational strategies.
- Ensure a robust contractor on-boarding process is in place.
- Ensure all contracts have appropriate KPI’s to support and enhance contractor performance.
- Define minimum standards for Contractor documentation in line with regulatory and Global Copper requirements.
- Define, implement, and monitor Audit requirements for Contractors.
- In alignment with the risk register, ensure that performance reviews/corrective action meetings are conducted where appropriate to mitigate potential issues.
- Ensure the Contract performance review processes and supporting templates are in place.
- Address corrective actions identified in performance reviews.
- Monthly reporting of key indicators as defined in the Contractor Management Framework and Contractor’s Strategy.
- Develop and maintain systems supporting the contractor management strategy with up-to-date data and accurate reporting.
- Initiate systems to monitor contractor compliance with Group Standards.
- Monitor and track supplier performance with the support of the SC Business Enablement team.
- Train and monitor Contractors onsite.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and reviews across all aspects of contractor management and develop a risk register to identify high-risk activities and proactively mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation plans based on the findings of reviews.
- Align with the risk register to ensure performance reviews and corrective actions are conducted.
- Develop and implement a process to incorporate ESD designated Contractors onto the site.
- Support the development of ESD contractors to improve and upskill their capability to deliver safe and efficient operations to our Assets.
- Collaborate with SHE to develop processes for reducing Contractor-related incidents on-site, aiming for zero safety or environmental incidents.
- Ensure contractors’ compliance with relevant legislation.
- Facilitate monthly safety meetings for contractors.
- Assess Safety, Health, and Environmental risks of contractors and implement appropriate interventions.
- Implement proper governance to enable Contractors to meet set operational requirements.
- Support the onsite procurement teams as well as the Strategic Sourcing teams with the SRM programme.

- Proven experience (15+ years) in Contractor management, Fidic / NEC contract management or EPC/M,
- Experience in Mining, Processing, or heavy industry,
