Join Our Team as a Safety & Health Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety & Health Officer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Manager of Safety and Health to implement and enforce the Safety and Health policies and procedures across the Corporate Centre and corporate-led projects. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations to minimize the risk of incidents caused by unsafe practices or lack of awareness. Minimum Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

• N Dip: Safety Management (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate First Line Management (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate Occupational Health (Recommended/Desirable)
• B Tech (Relevant) (Recommended/Desirable)

EXPERIENCE:

3-5 years Relevant experience within a heavy industry, mining or production environment (Essential/Minimum) Operational

REQUIREMENTS:

• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)

Duties & Responsibilities
But not limited to:

• Support the Manager Safety and Health to implement the Safety and Health policy and procedures within the Corporate Centre and within Corporate-led projects.
  • To comply with the Safety and Health regulations in order to reduce the occurrence of incidents due to unsafe acts or lack of awareness.

• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
• Private Security Industry Regulatory Aut (Essential/Minimum)

Duties & Responsibilities
Customer, Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management

• Communicate with client’s supervisors to inform on duties performed
• Perform special tasks as requested by direct superior
• Escorting of visitors and employees to different mine areas

Risk Control Operations

• Patrol all mine areas (on foot or using a vehicle)
• Perform administration duties related to designated area of specialization
• Reaction officer
• Inspection of fire equipment, crowd control equipment and industrial action vehicles
• Monitor control authorised access
• Control access of company property
• Assist in carrying out duties
• Attend to alarms
• Report irregularities
• Assist in preliminary investigations, collect evidence at crime scenes
• Assist in controlling waste by reducing cost, materials, time and equipment
• Recruit informers / obtain information from all possible sources.
• Perform guarding / protection work.
• Perform observation duties. Perform security service at official functions

• Maintain and ensure a healthy environment, safe operations practices
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Safety Health and Environment (SHE) policies and procedures in line with set standards
• Encourage a culture that focuses on safety in all operations
• Comply with Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC) and technical requirements
• Wear applicable Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times
