The role:

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

HR Administrator −         Act as key liaison to all stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of HR administrative processes−         Provide administrative support to HR related projects or change initiatives as required−         Identify and address opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and quality of HR administration processes−         Ensure consistent compliance to and communication of relevant HR policies and procedures to employees−         Provide a wide range of administrative support across all HR functions (Remuneration and Benefits, payroll, etc.) – as detailed below.
Manage Personnel and Administration −         Resolve basic personnel admin queries received from employees and other HR staff−         Administrate inbound and outbound correspondence – incl. preparation of standard letters and reports, processing of paper forms submitted by employees, etc.−         Maintain HR / personnel records – incl. filing, archiving, scanning (as per standard process in respective asset).−         Manage fund benefit queries and claims related to incapacity process.
Reporting &     Master Data Management   −         Manage employee data from site and assist in updating on the system e.g. address, next of kin etc.−         Provide administrative support for Rewards & Recognition process (incl. Operation production bonus files for confirmation of employee lists.−         Assist employee with UI19−         Submit requests for employee data in 1SAP and provide related administration support.
Query Management Employee       Relations Onsite filling Manage Incapacity process. –        Process standard employee queries and collaborate with all key stakeholders, monitor progress, track completion, and inform about outcomes.-        Perform payroll related administration queries (e.g. Absence quota’s) as required-        Provide HR Coordinators with relevant information and insight related to employee queries or grievances that enables him to be more effective in managing cases and maintaining good employee relationships.-        Administrate employee surveys as required.-        Receive and file and employee documentation – individual filling as per the standard.-        Manage the operations filling room. –        Administrate documents for incapacity, employee medical records.-       Follow with the fund process as well as with employee on outstanding documentation, receive letter

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Human Resources or occupationally directed ETD Practice in a similar field
  • 2 years’ experience in Human Resource with a Degree or Diploma or 10 years relevant experience
  • Experience in relevant HR sub functions under consideration with basic knowledge of mining and other relevant legislation including: Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act; Mine Health and Safety Act; BBBEE Act, 2003; Minerals Codes of Good Practices; Mining Charter; Labour Relations Act, 1995; Basic Conditions of Employment Act, 1997; Employment Equity Act, 1998; Skills Development (and Levies) Act, 1998; Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993
  • Experience in recruitment and selection processes
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of HR theories and principles and benchmarks
  • Sound knowledge of HR policies and procedures and legislative requirements in terms of compliance
  • Conflict management skills
  • Report writing skills
  • Computer literacy: MS Office and SAP/SAGE
  • Valid driver’s license
  • In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness

Advantageous:

  • Degree/National Diploma or equivalent in Information Management/Human Resources Development/Industrial Psychology (NQF Level 7)

Senior Strata Control Officer, D1

The role:

To ensure compliance to mine standards and COP’s with regards to Strata Control.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Comply with and ensure adherence to safety regulations
  • Adhere to corporate governance implementation
  • Conduct Inspections of roof quality
  • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all underground workers
  • Ensure and enforce compliance and adherence to legislative requirements
  • Compliance with the Emergency Preparedness and Response requirements
  • Ensure the effective management of contractors
  • Ensure change management process is implemented and communicated
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance to the company’s Rock Engineering specifications
  • Analysis of trends (i.e. Safety, Cost, Production, People)
  • To collect sample, analyse and report test results of mine support materials and comply to ISO 9000 requirements
  • Interact with customers and familiarize yourself with operational concerns and any inherent peculiarities (e.g. HSEC & ISO issues)
  • Budgetary control for laboratory materials
  • Produce monthly invoices
  • Conduct quality assurance tests on support materials
  • Participate in and maintain compliance with a support quality assurance system (ISO)
  • Participate in investigation (RCFA) of failed support units
  • Draft 1SAP reports as identified and specified

Requirements:

  • BSc Degree/Diploma in Mining Engineering / Geology or 2 Papers of COMREC or Mine Overseer Certificate or Mine Managers Certificate
  • Chamber of Mines (CoM) Certificate in Strata Control (Coal)
  • Safety & Risk Management courses
  • A minimum 2 – 5 years of experience in Rock Engineering within the Coal mining industry
  • In-depth knowledge of rock engineering practices
  • Relevant mining environmental legislation
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite & Bentley Reader
  • A valid driver’s license

Advantageous:

  • Management Development Programme or equivalent
  • Member of SANIRE
  • Registered ECSA professional certified Strata Control Engineer
  • National training certificate at least on NQF Level 4 or higher
  • Experience in mining methods, mine planning & shafts / boxcuts
  • Experience in the preparation of learning material as well as preparation
  • Experience in U/G Production roof support on operations
  • Strata Control / UG / OC mining analysis and evaluation skill

The role:

To lead the maintenance planning team in ensuring the development, endorsement, approval, communication and reporting of maintenance plans for all operational assets, including all HSEC, legal and statutory requirements.  Ensuring that all maintenance work is planned and scheduled and that the Seriti Work Management process is being applied to manage and control maintenance execution work.  Developing and ensuring adherence to long term asset lifecycle plans for primary equipment and supporting the development of the maintenance budget for the operation.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Ensure the development, deployment and continuous improvement of asset maintenance plans for the operation.
  • Ensure compliance to the SAP work management processes.
  • Deliver all work management plans and schedules.
  • Chair the weekly work schedule meeting and planning meeting ensuring attendance as per SAP process requirements.
  • Assure that accurate weekly work schedules are produced, aligned to the corresponding 12-week planning window, and signed off by relevant sub functions.
  • Support the system specialist in the governance of the SAP processes at the operation.
  • Ensure quality and completeness of work management master data to support the planning and scheduling process.
  • Monitoring and reporting of work management KPI’s to Site Management
  • Verify that legal and statutory work is planned and scheduled in accordance to Mine Health and Safety act and Seriti requirements.
  • Build and maintain a competent and motivated workforce by monitoring and evaluating team members against performance standards.
  • Promote operational discipline and high performance in work execution and enhance the technical knowledge of team members.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory legislation, and Seriti standards and requirements.
  • Ensure effective risk management processes are established, actioned, and reviewed.
  • Accountable for facilitating and developing the functional budget for Engineering at the operation and financial management of the maintenance planning function.
  • Act as representative of the organization at stakeholder forums.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or National Diploma or National Certificate N4 in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering with a recognised Trade Test Certificate
  • Minimum of 4 years in Maintenance Work Management Planning as a Planner / Systems Specialist
  • Knowledge of Seriti Operational and Engineering Codes of Practices, policies, guidelines, standards and procedures
  • Knowledge of the equipment types and the duty they must perform
  • Communications skills, fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Expert/ Professional that has guided, developed and influenced practice in the Maintenance/ Work Management Planning area
  • Requires detailed knowledge of principles and concepts related to maintaining and operating operational equipment and comprehensive knowledge of other functions
  • In depth knowledge of critical controls and work management activities is essential
  • Knowledge of the maintenance module in SAP
  • Very good working knowledge of all Microsoft office products
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid Certificate of Fitness or able to obtain

Advantageous:

  • Asset Management Qualification
  • SAP PM qualification / certificate
