Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the Safety, Occupational Health, Environment and Loss Control & Security system within Production
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Safety, Occupational Health, Environment, and Loss Control & Security Management system
- Ensure that procedures are followed correctly regarding change control at Production level
- Report/communicate to Production and PT&T, process changes etc. that will influence Safety, Occupational Health, Environment ,Loss Control, Security and Quality, as well as food safety at plant level
- Identify Safety, Occupational Health, Loss Control and Security and Quality and (especially adherence to legislation and ISO/FSSC standards) support with specialist knowledge to solve the issues
- Verify that occupational health, safety ISO18001,related training is done
- Ensure that all risks pertaining to Safety, Occupational Health, Environment ,Loss Control ,Security and Quality (including Food Safety) is quantified and mitigation measures, including appropriate work procedures and PPE are implemented
Support and manage Safety, Occupational Health, Environment ,Loss Control & Security requirements in Production
- Provide support to Production regarding trials and processes
- Ensure that an effective Occupational Health care service is provided
- Conduct Safety, Occupational Health & Environmental meetings, and run adhoc awareness campaigns
- Provide support to projects, trials, root cause analysis (RCA), modifications and validations, as per the request from the relevant functional input
- Coordinate training and development of Production staff
- Monitor and guide the job observation program e.g. SOP’s, One Point Lessons, Task Based Training etc. in consultation with relevant functional input
- Identify, develop, standardise and implement tools & techniques to ensure effective manufacturing
Investigate complaints, incidents and corrective actions regarding Safety, Occupational Health, Environment Conduct, report and record investigations related to Safety, Occupational Health, Environment, Quality and implement corrective actions
- Ensure that all reportable incidents are reported to the relevant authorities,DEL,CC,National & local authorities.
- Accompany local authorities from the health, fire and pollution control departments on site inspections
- Ensure that all legal surveys in respect of occupational health, safety & environment are conducted & corrective actions taken.
- Conduct quarterly emergency drills with emergency response teams and annual emergency drills with the local authorities.
- Ensure that all fire protection systems (fire equipment, fire and smoke detection & fire sprinklers) are serviced as per legal requirements and defects resolved.
- Ensure that adequate SHE representatives and first aiders are nominated, elected and trained
- Oversee the functioning of the site occupational health clinic and effluent plant & laboratory.
- Manage service providers for waste management, fire equipment ,pest control, security & CCTV.
- Develop, coordinate and implement loss control programmes to safeguard company property and personnel
- Assist management to curb product and crate/pallet losses
- Manage and liaise with Production regarding investigation of complaints and SHE, Loss Control & Security incidents, provide expert advice where required
Facilitate Safety, Occupational Health, Environment, Quality, product technical, and food safety audits
- Ensure that the facility is aware and available for all related audits
- Validate that the relevant documentations are in place for the audit
- Ensure that the corrective actions of previous findings are done
- Ensure that proactive steps are taken to minimise risks, findings etc. in the system
- Ensure internal audit protocol/methodology regarding Head Office plant audits is done. (FSSC/GMP Based)
