JOB PURPOSE:
To coordinate and control all facets of security functions to ensure optimum security services in order to
safeguard Council property, installations, equipment, personnel and interest. To allow access of
authorised persons and deny access to people without authorisations. Authorised persons include
officials, politicians, approved visitors. Unauthorised people include suspicious persons, people without
permissions, contractors.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POST:

  • Grade 12
  • PSIRA Grade C Registered
  • Peace Officer (PO) Training and Certification and Appointment

OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POST:

  • High level of responsibility
  • Ability to give attention to detail
  • Good communication, human relations and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in 2 of the official Western Cape languages (one of which must be English)

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years relevant experience.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  1. A service bonus equivalent to one month’s salary, where applicable, will be payable and be supplemented

Primary tasks include all actions related to countering small scale land invasion attempts by providing safe zones for Department of Housing officials to disassemble and remove illegal informal structures (large scale land invasion will be countered and managed by contracted special services contracted by tender).
Tasks include all actions related to Municipal Bylaw Enforcement.
