KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Ensure proper access control and monitor existing and new financial system users.
- Maintain a system of internal control and to ensure that the Data Processing Section functions
effectively and efficiently. - Ensure that debtor account payments are updated with information as received.
- Ensure that data is processed and checked for correctness and submitted according to specific
timeframes to institutions for processing. - Ensure that the information captured on debtor accounts are correct.
- Ensure that all data is captured correctly and that data master files are created.
- Ensure that data is checked, verified and correct prior to salary update runs.
- Ensure that printouts issued are correct and that totals are compared prior to sending it out to
Directorates and Sections. - Ensure that all the processing of vehicle fleet requirements is done.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS ATTACHED TO THE POST:
- Must be able to work under pressure to meet monthly deadlines.
- Supervise efficient and accurate data processing for data integrity.
- Excellent Accounting skills for reconciliation purpose.
- Must have excellent communication and interpretation skills.

- Ensure proper Billing from effective periods and that the Supplementary Valuation Rolls, Reviewed
Supplementary Rolls, Appealed and Objected Supplementary Valuation Rolls are balanced and that the
totals compare with the Financial System, and the services tariffs matches the category assigned to the
property. - Ensure prepared journals are captured error-free for vote reconciliation purposes.
- Ensure that findings emanating from inspections are executed according to departmental guidelines.
- Ensure that journals are captured and balanced correctly per data on the printout.
- Ensure Deeds of Sale contracts are processed and captured on the financial system for the levying of
- rates and levies.
- Ensure that cancellation of contracts is processed and that all administrative requirements are met.
- Ensure that all applications for rebates are processed according to guidelines and approved
- procedures.
- Ensure that debit raising is carried out where building clauses are concerned.
- Ensure that all tariffs are adjusted as necessary and corrections done by journal.
- Ensure that change of property ownership is registered and that the applicable debits are raised.
- Ensure that correct tariffs are applied to new services and that the correct debits are raised.
- Ensure that consolidations and subdivisions reflect correctly on the Financial System.
- Ensure the processing of valuation transactions are completed accurately in accordance with laid down
- accounting procedure and MPRA.
- Ensure that rates and service charges are updated prior to debit raising.
- Ensure that the correct tariffs are charged on Investment Incentives as approved by Council.
- Aid clients and other personnel with enquiries on rates and taxes.
