KEY DELIVERABLES
The Junior Material Testing Technician’s primary role is to collect samples on sites and conduct and facilitate laboratory tests. Monitor experiments, record and calculate results and ensure testing traceability. Compile draft test reports for approval. Strict adherence to applicable SANS test methods while complying with ISO/IEC 17025 and SANAS requirements.
The Individual will primarily be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
• Conduct site visits to collect samples and conduct tests.
• Maintains equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, reporting and adhering to calibrations and maintenance schedules.
• Set up, adjust and verify laboratory and field equipment.
• Isolate, identify and prepare samples for examination.
• Analyse data and interpret results.
• Ensure sample registers are regularly and appropriately updated.
• Record all testing data as per the laboratory worksheets and forms.
• Identify problems by examining and evaluating data; propose corrective steps and apply recommended corrective action to the Laboratory Technician.
• Ensure correct sample identification on site and recording in the laboratory.
• Provide support in research projects where there is a need for material testing and analyses, including the collection of information and samples, such as soils, bricks, cores, etc.
• Participate in educational opportunities.
• Implementation of laboratory audit and management recommendations.
• Ensure that all laboratory and organisational policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Ensure all testing complies with relevant SANS standards
• Draft laboratory reports.
• Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Process all documentation according to the laboratory Quality Document.
• Build, support and maintain healthy relations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Grade 12
• Minimum qualification is a National Diploma in Built Environment or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience conducting Civil /geotechnical laboratory testing methods.
• Knowledgeable and familiar with relevant SANS Testing Methods, ISO 17025 and SANAS requirements
• Analytical mathematical skills
• Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, email)

APPOINTMENT:
The above-mentioned position will be offered on a temporary basis with a basic salary.

TEMPORARY SENIOR FORENSIC INVESTIGATOR

REPORTING TO: CHIEF RISK AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER
LOCATION: SUNNINGHILL

KEY DELIVERABLES
The Senior Forensic Investigator is responsible for conducting investigations on allegations of fraud and corruption on an organizational level within the National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC).The Individual will primarily be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
• Assist the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer with strategic planning of the forensic function and maintaining a forensic auditing, fraud investigation capability in the organization
• Establish and maintain a world-class Forensic/Fraud investigations capability in the organization
• Develop fraud prevention and detection strategies
• Develop and maintain the Fraud Prevention Strategy, Fraud Prevention Plan and Fraud Prevention Policy and Procedures
• Analyse financial statements and systems from a forensic perspective
• Plan and execute fraud awareness training across the organization
• Manage, plan and conduct forensic audit/ fraud investigations
• Update and maintain fraud hotline register
• Liaise with role players in law enforcement and intelligence agencies
• Compile and analyse relevant data and review evidence gathered
• Prepare the final investigation report and address the report to internal stakeholders in accordance with internal NHBRC standards
• Compile clear and concise reports for use in disciplinary hearings and other relevant forums
• Provide evidence at disciplinary hearings and in criminal/civil courts where necessary
• Prepare and present forensic reports on appropriate recommendations to senior/executive management as well as implementation timescales
• Identify risks and vulnerabilities during investigations, propose mitigation actions to management for the identified fraud risk and ensure proper follow up for their implementation
• Contribute in the development of and maintenance of the fraud risk register of the organization
• Identify system and internal control weaknesses
• Prepare reports and other documentation (monthly, quarterly and annual reporting)
• Collaborate with the enforcement unit in respect of cross functional investigations
• Assist in preparing cases for prosecution and presenting evidence at criminal and civil trials
• Attend to the compilation of case files for disciplinary purposes
• Liaise with the relevant prosecuting authority and SAPS in respect of criminal cases
• Investigate and compile case files where applicable
• Collate and present material evidence and analysis relevant to business expectations
• Support the provision of effective Fraud detection and prevention advisory services to NHBRC staff as required in a cost-effective manner, reducing unnecessary litigation
• Assist with the control of departmental costs in line with budget limits
• Support the implementation of remedial actions in response to potential audit findings
• Report and act on any fraudulent conduct timeously
• Provide management with advice on fraud prevention and detection strategies
• Build and maintain good working relationship with all stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient investigations
• Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal and external relations and implement remedial actions where required
• Provide the relevant support to stakeholders to ensure team objectives are achieved
• Engage with internal stakeholders to improve the flow of information during investigation process
• Assist and support Managers in the development and implementation of checks and controls to prevent fraud within the context of the NHBRC
• Maintain records of communication with stake holders
• Discuss and share investigation reports with relevant officials and specialized units (e.g. Hawks) to ensure successful prosecutions

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Grade 12
• Minimum Bachelor Degree (NQF7) in Forensic, Risk Management, Commerce or related Behavioral Science
• Minimum five (5) years forensic, fraud investigative or forensic audit project management experience
• Certified Fraud Examiner or Certified Forensic Practitioner (SA) in good standing
• Recent and demonstrated experience in conducting of complex internal investigations and information analysis

TEMPORARY SECURITY SPECIALIST

JOB TITLE : TEMPORARY SECURITY SPECIALIST

KEY DELIVERABLES:
The Security Specialist is responsible to develop and implement physical security risk strategies and policies aligned with best practices; taking into account legislative requirements so that the company is compliant to all security risk management regulations.
The Individual will primarily be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
• Plan, direct, or coordinate security activities to safeguard NHBRC assets, employees, guests, or others on company property
• Coordinate security operations or activities with public law enforcement and other agencies
• Devise all physical security measures and procedures for the whole organisation based on the policy
• Plan physical security for special and high-risk events
• Conduct physical security awareness across the organisation
• Identify, investigate and report all incidents or suspected incidents of physical security breaches for investigation
• Conduct physical security appraisals and ensure proper implementation of recommendations, in consultations with relevant authorities
• Assist in physical security emergency management and contingency planning
• Conduct Physical Security Risk Assessments across NHBRC Offices
• Update the Biometric Access Control System on a monthly basis
• Prepare reports or make presentations on internal physical security investigations and losses
• Keep record of all physical security incidents (thefts/burglaries, tampering with security system)
• Develop physical security progress reports on a monthly and quarterly basis for submission to Risk Management Oversight Committees
• Monitor internal compliance with the approved internal physical security policies and procedures by employees and other stakeholders
• Conduct, support or assist in reviews, internal corporate evaluations, or assessments of the overall effectiveness of the physical security processes.
• Monitor the budget for security operations
• Monitor and verify invoices received from security service provider
• Order security-related supplies and equipment as needed
• Compile tender specifications for physical security requirements
• Monitor Security SLA contracts and performance thereof
• Attend to physical security customer queries/ needs as and when required
• Conduct verifications and signs of an employee exit forms

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Grade 12
• Minimum three (3) Year National Diploma (NQF 6) in Security Management
• An Advanced Diploma or Post Graduate Diploma in Security Management will be an added advantage
• Minimum five to ten years’ experience in physical security management within a large organization with a staff compliment of over 600 employees
• A valid PSIRA Membership Certificate
