- A minimum of 7years experience in various cold chain functions. Please note that candidates with relatively experience but with proven outstanding performance may be considered in line with PPECB’s EE policy.
- Proven ability to fulfill at least 6 cumulative functions within cold chain.
- Competency requirement is a minimum of 120 credits (both technical and supervisory)
- Required Competencies include container inspections, cleanliness and PTI, container on board sensor calibration, container loading (normal and cold treatment), cold store registration, vessel inspection and loading(normal), Precooling certificate, Terminal monitoring, vessel carrying instructions (normal).
- Proven track record of training subordinates.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work with minimum supervision.

Research Technician
Job Description
Main purpose of the job:
The PPECB Statutory Services Research Department is currently recruiting for a Temporary Research Technician on a fixed term contract until the 31 March 2026. This position reports directly to the Research and Development Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting postharvest research on perishable products, with a focus on improving handling procedures, optimising storage conditions and enhancing the maintenance of product quality.
This role offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to critical research that supports the agricultural export sector.

• To plan and design a research trial
• To execute the trial and collect data according to protocol
• To analyse data and complete research reports
• Maintain good relationships with clients and packhouse personnel
• To ensure compliance with relevant PPECB policy and procedures
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
• Diploma in Agriculture with crop science as a major (Essential)
• Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or related fields (Desirable)
Experience:
• Fruit Handling (1 Year) – Practical experience handling export-quality fruit such as stone fruit, pome fruit, citrus, and table grapes.
• Scientific Research (1 year): Experience in conducting research projects, including planning, data collection, and analysis.
• Fruit Quality Assessment (1 year): Skilled in identifying and evaluating fruit quality disorders.
• Report Writing (1 year): Ability to write clear, structured research or technical reports.
• Client Interaction (1 year): Experience working with clients, including communicating research findings and providing technical support.
