The Public Investment Corporation SOC Limited (PIC) is an asset management firm, whose

We are currently seeking applications from dynamic individuals for the following position:

Purpose of the role:
The position’s primary role is to lead the division and provide strategic direction in fulfilling the PIC mandate as an Investment Manager

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field. CFA, CAIA, CA or
    MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years relevant experience of which 5 years must at least be in senior
    management with relevant experience in team leadership and People management
  • Deep understanding of local private markets, fund structures, valuation methodologies, and
    market dynamics.
  • Proven track record in sourcing, executing, and managing unlisted investments
  • Knowledge of risk management
  • FAIS RE5, RE1 and RE3 (or to be obtained within 6 months)

Duties:

  • To provide strategic vision, leadership and management of the Private Equity, Fund of Funds,
    Structured Products, Debts and Structuring Investment Pillars and Impact Investment pillars
    excluding infrastructure-related investments
  • Strategy formulation, implementation, review, and adaptation
  • Contribute to the implementation of deal origination strategy of all other Unlisted Funds
  • Develop and implement functional relationships with other local and international asset
    holders/DFIs/government departments (e.g. Conclude and implement MOUs)
  • Develop and implement a portfolio diversification strategy
  • Team leadership to make investments efficiently (i.e., quick turnaround, staff productivity)

Portfolio Manager (Resources)- Readvertisement

Purpose of the role:
To oversee the daily management of the Resources equity portfolio, ensuring an informed investment
perspective that influences sector allocation decisions beneficial to the PIC’s equity portfolio. This role also involves delivering investment insights to both internal and external clients of the PIC and effectively
managing the activities of the Assistant Portfolio Manager and Analysts within their designated sector or
cluster.

Requirements:
Minimum qualifications and experience:

  • B degree in Commerce, Finance or Science
  • At least 8 to 10 years relevant experience
  • Extensive Senior Management experience (At least 5-10 years)
  • FAIS Representative (or must be obtained within 6 months of employment)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate degree in Commerce, Finance or Science
  • CFA Institute / SAICA/ or Similar

PMV Associate (Properties)- Readvertisement

Purpose of the role:
To manage, monitor and analyse financial and non-financial performance information of Real Estate
Investments (Direct and Indirect Investments) and their respective counterparties. Overseeing allocated
investments against their long-term financial goals, risk mitigation and contributing to the developing value enhancement strategies.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • B Com (Honours) in Commerce or B.Sc (Honours) in Finance, Property Studies related
    degree or any other related commerce and finance degree
  • 4 – 5 years experience in post-investment management, with exposure to commercial
    property or other investments
  • FAIS RE 05 Certificate or must be obtained within 6 months of employment

Preferred Qualifications :

Duties:

  • Monitor and analyse financial and non-financial performance information of Property
    Investments and their respective counterparties.
  • Develop monitoring plans and post-investment management strategy for all Unlisted
    Property investments.
  • Develop post investment plan to be submitted together with the investment appraisal reports.
  • Monitor all investments (compliance and performance) in accordance with monitoring
    processes, policies, guidelines, frameworks and practices.
  • Minimise impairments of investments through active monitoring of covenants and early
    remedial actions
  • Compile reports and present them to all Exco and Board sub-committees as well as Clients.
  • Provide early warning signs to the Property Investments Team, Management and the
    respective Committees.
  • Conduct investee companies and property site visits and maintain ongoing interactions with
    the investee companies.
  • Risk mitigation and contributing to value enhancement strategies of property investments

Senior Credit Risk Analyst

  • Position: Senior Credit Risk Analyst

Purpose of the role:
To manage credit risk by way of identifying, quantifying, and reporting on various forms of credit risk (e.g.
pricing, volatility, and interest rate risk). To conduct ongoing research and understanding of financial
markets to understand trends and risks to ensure informed credit risk recommendations. Prepare Credit
reports, advising appropriate credit risk ratings, pricing, and exposure and making investment
recommendations concerning individual transactions.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree in commerce, science, engineering or any related equivalent
    qualification
  • CFA, FRM, CAIA, CA(SA) and/or equivalent advantageous
  • 6 – 8 years investment risk management experience
  • Sound understanding both in terms of depth and breadth of investment and credit risk
    management principles
  • Credit risk experience in both unlisted and listed credit will be highly advantageous.

Duties:

  • To manage credit risk by way of identifying, quantifying, and reporting on various forms of credit
    risk (e.g. pricing, volatility, and interest rate risk).
  • To provide subject matter expertise on the risk factors that affect one or more of the asset classes
    that are managed by the PIC.
  • Advise investment teams on appropriate pricing terms, structuring, credit enhancement or risk
    mitigation strategies.
  • To run with pilot/research projects related to improving ways of measuring, managing and/or
    minimizing investment risk while ensuring maximized return on all PIC portfolios.
  • Prepare Credit reports, determine the credit risk rating of new counterparties, recommend
    appropriate debt pricing, and make investment recommendations with respect to the individual
    transactions to management and clients.
  • Review existing investments credit ratings and conduct impairment calculations.
  • To implement effective investment/credit risk management practices within the PIC.
  • Lead, mentor and develop graduates and analysts.
