Network Planning Analyst
Job Description:
The Analyst is responsible for providing top-down portfolio analysis identifying potential investment risks and opportunities. This role will perform detailed analytical and statistical review of investment performance at the investment asset class, strategy composite and account portfolio levels.
They will lead the implementation of the Network Strategy and resulting multi-year plans in their Region (Inland or Coastal).
This role is responsible for ensuring that all matters relating to the sound administration of BP’s Retail property portfolio are timeously and effectively executed by the designated internal functions and/or contracted external service providers.
The role needs to also ensure focus on managing the portfolio of service station development land banks consisting of but not limited to, unimproved and improved freehold and/or leasehold land, including inter alia, churches, blocks of flats and houses.

Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for all detailed analytical and evaluative review of specific investments, historical market data and portfolio performance.
- Provide top-down analysis of portfolio allocation.
- Develop, acquire, and maintain key risk and return metrics for distribution to senior management.
- Assist in the development and tracking of impactful, environmental, and social investing strategies.
- Benchmark portfolio investments to market indices
- Analyze and presents earned income by business segment for Senior Management discussions.
- Lead and finalise the Multi year investment plan in their region which informs the capex plan and ultimately the construction and projects execution plan to be delivered by Construction Teams.
- Identify areas to improve the profitability of the existing company controlled network through alternative income projects (rental of open land, sub leases for QSR or locally relevant tenants)
Land bank Administration
- Transfer municipal accounts from previous owners in to name of BP and arrange for municipal accounts (rates & taxes and consumption) to be addressed to BP
- Ensure timeous payments of municipal accounts
- Where applicable appoint agents to lead properties
- Take ownership for agreements between bp and agents
- Appoint tenants and maintain the relationship between them and bp
- Maintain lease agreements pertaining to land bank sites
- Ensure rentals are paid on time and lead rental deposits as per lease agreements
Administrative Support on Property retailer rentals, utilities, taxes and income streams
- Prepare a zero-based Revenue Budget for the year
- Ensure that all supplier invoices pertaining to the revenue budget are paid timeously.
- Control the Suspense account on a monthly basis and arrange for transfer amounts to either revenue or capital budgets as agreed with the responsible Line Manager. Also provide assurance to management that account has been reconciled.
Loans, Grants & Discounts
- Open general ledger accounts
- Ensure budget is allocated
- Validate the trade debtor accounts
- Reconcile loan account
- Initiate recovery of loans
- Payment of grants
- Ensure that amortization of grants is activated and correctly recorded in the system
- Ensure that discounts agreed as per an approved Finance Memorandum is activated and that Customer Care Centre is notified to update it on an annual basis.
Divestments
- Processing of Disposals of assets
- Bank the proceeds cheque
- Compile the VAT invoice
- Compile the Disposal of Assets form
- Update the different supporting systems:
- RIS
- Periodic Payments
- Loans and Fixed recoveries
- Communicate above to the Customer Care Centre
Prepaid Rental Deals
- Opening general ledger accounts for Pre-paid rentals (PPR’s).
- Ensure that PPR accounts are reconciled timeously
- Ensure that amortization of PPR’s is activated and correctly recorded in the system
General
- Assist the team with the approval of purchase orders in Fraxion system.
- Ensure principal lease rentals are captured correctly and that issues are implemented timeously
Education

Reporting to the Operations Excellence Manager, the Retail Optimization Lead is accountable for the end to end project management of all new projects in Sales and Opex & completion of Wet Stock Management (WSM) at all Retail Sites nationally. The receipt, storage and dispensing of fuels is inherently a high-risk activity and therefore, the successful management of fuel stock is a critical within bp retail operations. The management of fuel stocks at retail sites (including fuel reconciliation) is varied between the different ESA countries and execution in South Africa market is of importance to the value chain of retail business.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the project plan and assist in assigning actions to ensure that milestones are completed in accordance with the project plan.
- Assist project lead in ensuring the project is executed in line with the CVP process and appropriate approvals are obtained where required.
- Lead all the work streams (Sales Operations, Logistics, Supply, Assets, GBS, I&TS, Finance and Pricing) to identify all project risks and develop risk mitigations.

- Ensure full HSSE compliance by contractors/ service providers during execution activities at site.
- Identify areas of improvement pertaining to systems operations and consistency of sales and inventory data.
- Manage the Onsite 360 discrepancies and resolve to improve operations with Sales Teams and stakeholders ATG Alarm Analysis, HSSE support
- Analyze and compile data into reports which feed into monthly HSSE performance reporting.
- Identify trends in data and engage with internal and external stakeholders to gain insights into potential root causes.
