ABOUT JOHANNESBURG:

Our Johannesburg office based in Melrose Arch serves as the company`s Functional Hub for the Southern African Operations which include Global Services, Technology and Enterprise Resource Planning Support Teams.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a fixed term contract position.

As a Graduate, you will be responsible to ensure the timely and accurate processing and execution of the Global Business Services (GBS) scope of services, while contributing to continuous improvement within the team.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Ensure alignment with and compliance to internal controls including South32 Charter and Code of Business Conduct, agreements, systems, standards and procedures;

• Monitor allocated scope of work to ensure that data is regularly and reliably captured for reporting purposes;

• Drive initiatives to improve the overall performance of the sub-function by optimising the utilisation of existing processes, practices and system in collaboration with the team;

• Produce, maintain and analyse relevant reports on an operational and management level while ensuring that local operating procedures as well as Key Performance Indicators where required are also maintained;

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency;

• Strong communication skills.

Qualifications for this role are:

The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world’s manganese. This position is based at our open-cut Mamatwan mine which started operating more than half a century ago.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As a plant Electrician, you will be responsible for routine maintenance, timely installation and where required, repair of equipment to ensure that plant related activities are executed in a safe manner, and that electrical reliability as per the requirements set forth by the supervisor, are met. You will also be required to operate electrical equipment and test all working parts in functional area to ensure proper utilization.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Interprets and coordinates pre-work with regards to repairs, planned and predictive maintenance;
• Accesses any area safely to perform necessary electrical maintenance on equipment;
• Performs daily safety inspections of equipment and assesses risks on equipment;
• Maintains a clean and safe worksite and accounts for the overall electrical reliability of the assigned section;

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical maintenance
• Maintenance and fault finding on Allen Bradley VSD’s will be advantageous.
• Medium voltage switchgear competence will be advantageous.
• Plant experience (substations, MCCs, transformers, motors, liquid starters, safety circuits and switchgear (VCB/ SF6) ) will be advantageous.
• MHSA knowledge/ experience will be advantageous

Qualifications for this role are:

• Grade 12;
• N3 trade certificate;
• Electrician Trade;
• Valid drivers license.

ABOUT MAMATWAN

The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world’s manganese. This position is based at our open-cut Mamatwan mine which started operating more than half a century ago.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As a Miner, you will be responsible for mining and and extracting ore according to Mining legislation and regulations.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

•Taking charge of the opencast blasting operations within the designated area;

•Ensure the delivery of quality product to the plant;

•Achieve the daily production targets;

•Manage operator time and attendance;

•Conduct daily lean meetings;

•Be familiar with the production process activities, trends and brief operators accordingly at the start of each shift;

•Handle explosives in the mining environment; lock up extra or unused explosives and accessories;

•Organize and control general road construction activities;

•Assist Supervisor on the implementation and maintenance of the traffic management plan

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

•Must have a minimum of 3 year’s experience in a hard rock mining environment;

•Knowledge of SAP and MS Office is advantageous;

Qualifications for this role are:

•Grade 12 with mathematics;

•Open cast blasting certificate for surface mine;

•Valid drivers license.
