Senior Data Platform Engineer – Oil Assets
Join us as an experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer, you will lead the design and governance of scalable, secure, and compliant data architectures on Microsoft Azure. You will work across oil trading, refining, and retail fuel operations to align cloud data strategies with business goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
You will play a hands-on technical role within the data engineering team, interfacing with the CloudOps team in London to design and implement cost effective solutions across our suite of Azure products adhering to best practice principles. Experience in DevOps is highly desirable as you will be responsible for designing CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions and containerization technologies.
In addition, the role will involve exploring new technologies and navigating implementation within Glencore’s private Azure tenant, according to the guidelines enforced at Group level. With these in mind, you will play an advisory role across the Assets, assisting with design and implementation, and on-premises to cloud migrations as required.
Responsibilities:
Platform Engineering & Architecture
Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective data platform solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, and related services.
Translate business and regulatory requirements into cloud-native data architectures.
Contribute to the architectural roadmap, including the adoption and integration of Microsoft Fabric for unified data experiences.
Define and enforce platform standards, patterns, and reusable components to accelerate delivery across the team.
CI/CD, Automation & Containerization
Lead the implementation of CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows using Azure DevOps and Git.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Bicep, Terraform).
Develop and maintain containerized data services using Docker and orchestrate deployments using Kubernetes (AKS).
Establish automated testing, validation, and monitoring practices to ensure data quality and platform reliability.
Team Enablement & Collaboration
Collaborate closely with the other Senior Engineer to co-lead technical direction and ensure consistency across projects.
Mentor and support data engineers and developers, providing guidance on best practices, code reviews, and technical upskilling.
Work cross-functionally with Data Architects, Analysts, and Product Owners to translate business needs into robust data solutions.
Governance, Security & Operations
Implement data governance and lineage practices using Microsoft Purview and Fabric-native tools.
Ensure compliance with security and privacy standards through RBAC, encryption, and secure data handling.
Monitor platform performance and proactively address operational issues and bottlenecks.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement

Underground Mine Project Manager
Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

Main Objective of the Position
The Underground Project Manager will be accountable for the delivery of the Pre Feasiblity (PFS), Feasibility Study (FS) and Execution (EXE) phases of MUMI’s underground mine development. This includes overseeing ventilation systems, mine services, underground access development, haulage infrastructure, and delivery to first ore.
This role will lead the definition and delivery planning of the underground scope as a key component of the Life of Asset 2026 (LoA2026) strategy.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Professional certification in Project Management (e.g. PMP, Prince2) is desirable
Strong knowledge of underground mine design and development best practices
Required Experience
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in underground mining and capital project delivery
Demonstrated leadership in delivering FS and EXE phases of complex underground projects
Experience working in or with EPCM-managed environments
Familiarity with stage-gated capital delivery frameworks and Life of Asset strategies
Key Responsibilities
Lead the underground scope of MUMI’s expansion programme, from FS through to EXE and first ore delivery
Define project requirements for underground infrastructure including ventilation, services, access, and haulage systems
Align scope, budget, schedule, and risk management activities with the Life of Asset 2026 (LoA2026) strategic roadmap
Oversee the integration of underground workstreams with processing, infrastructure, and exploration projects
Manage contractor performance, engineering deliverables, and construction readiness for underground works
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards throughout the project lifecycle
Drive project controls, reporting, and governance to support decision-making and performance transparency
Support commissioning planning and handover to operations
