Thembelihle Municipality, with its Headquarters in Hopetown hereby invites
suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following vacant post. The

DIRECTORATE: TECHNICAL SERVICES

POST: TWO ELECTRICAL INTERNS FOR A PERIOD OF 10 MONTHS – 10
MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

Remuneration: R10 000.00 per month.

  1. Requirements:
  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or any equivalent and relevant
    qualification.
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Valid Drivers license
  1. Key Performance Areas:
  • The Interns will be in planning, scheduling and coordinating EEDSM project
    activities.
  • Collect and analyse data related to energy consumption and efficiency.
  • Support the development and implementation of innovative solutions to
    improve energy efficiency
  • Support the preparation of technical specifications for energy-efficient
    equipment.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and
    projected savings
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and municipal staff to ensure project
    alignment and progress.
  • Receiving instruction from the immediate superior on the layout and the
    execution of specific work sequences
  • Operating hand held equipment (Jack-Hammer, etc.) to cut through concrete/
    tarred surfaces
  • Laying cables and positioning supporting structures (poles) and cleaning and tinning of conductors, binding and strapping, stripping of individual
  • conductors.
  • Attending to the erection and installation sequences of poles, cross waves,
    stays, lines, aerial transformers, switchgear, etc using hand held power tools
    to drill and mount junction boxes, brackets, cable trays, racks, etc and tighten
    screws and bolts.
  • Terminating cables, wires etc to junction boxes, connecting blocks and/ or
    terminals including soldering, fitting of lugs and harnessing wires

Candidates must be willing to be subjected to an interview and evaluation process and
be aware that previous employers and references may be contacted and their
qualifications, credit record may be verified and they will be subjected to a police
security clearance.
