As part of the social responsibility initiatives, the NNR provides opportunities to unemployed graduates to receive workplace skills and experience.
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12
- Completed NQF level 7 in Physics or Chemistry or Environmental Management, or Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering
- Minimum of 1-year regulatory experience or relevant industry experience
- Be a South African citizen
Knowledge of the following:
- Radiation Protection
- Nuclear Safety
- Waste Safety
- Transport Safety
- Environmental Protection
Skills Development and Training focus areas:
- Participate in compliance assurance activities i.e. planned and unplanned inspections, environmental sampling, investigations, nuclear emergency exercise, project review meetings and radiological confirmatory surveys
- Assist in the review of assigned compliance reports for adequacy and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Participate and assist with the Review of analysis results from Laboratory
Skills and Competencies
- Ms Office Package
- Teamwork
- Good Communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work under pressure
- Interpersonal skills
